However, I do catch part of their late-night/early a.m. coverage. It's mostly news-lite.

3. Is CBS the "Go-To" network for truth now?

4. Because then you wouldn't have true journalism anymore at CBS
a 24 hour newschannel has transformed into an infotainment model. CBS still runs a real news department. I'm not so sure faux or MSRNC do the same.

That's the missing link IMO. I hadn't thought about it that way, but that's exactly what makes CBS unique. And what's wrong with News lately.

10. the 24/7 business started the problems
Because they had to fill all that time, and there wasn't that much "hard news" that they thought people would be interested in. NOW there is so much bad crap that has to be unraveled that CBS could probably keep a 24/7 operation up and running with no ill effects for YEARS!

5. Probably because they're interested in REAL news
and they do it nightly and on 60 minutes and 60 minutesII. The 24 hours news networks just rehash the same tired crap 24/7 and they'll grab any lame BS story just to break the monotony!

7. With what CBS is doing today I wish they did.
They even ask the WH questions. This must be precedent setting with our media.

9. I was wondering about that today too
When CNN was owned by Turner it was truly a news channel. It got pretty good ratings. CBS should consider it. Straight forward reporting and hard hitting investigative reports would go over pretty well, I think.
