For some odd reason he takes a lot of shit here on DU. I've never understood that. He's done some flop movies, but he's a helluva democrat! Besides, his work with Kevin Smith is awesome. Of course Chasing Amy was good, but even Jersey Girl, which I fully expected to hate, was great.

I'm not in love with either Affleck or Lopez, but I expected to hate Gigli (what with the implausible 'love' scene) and I can honestly say that it was no worse than any Jennifer Aniston film.

Plus, you can see how in love with her he was. I'd venture to say it was his best work, his scenes with her....of course, he wasn't acting.

A long quote from Good Will Hunting, released in 1997 but probaby written 1995-1996:

So I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I'm real happy with myself, 'cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North Africa or the Middle East. Once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels were hiding and fifteen hundred people I never had a problem with get killed. So my buddy's out of work and he can't afford to drive, so he's got to walk to the job interviews, which sucks 'cause the shrapnel in his ass is givin' him chronic hemorrhoids. And meanwhile he's starvin' 'cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat the only blue plate special they're servin' is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State. So what do I think? I'm holdin' out for somethin' better. Why not just shoot my buddy, take his job and give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president.

I definitely avoided going the DOD path for some of those reasons. Many of my college professors had worked on weapons systems in a prior life, though they weren't allowed to discuss the details.

One celebrity (I forget who) on the Daily Show said that he/she screws the paparazzi by always wearing the same outfit at airports. That way, they can't sell the photos because the magazines say... we already have a picture of him wearing these clothes at an airport, this is the same day. LOL!!

This is an even better idea! If the paparazzi wants to make money selling photos of Ben, they're going to have to include free advertising for Kerry! :)
