This is my biggest effort to help JK win. I hope I represent the change in our awakened population that will bring JK victory. Last election I voted for Nader. I was asleep at the wheel. But not anymore.
Here's the event I created. I'll answer any questions on how I started it, in case anybody wants to replicate it. The main thing is picking a venue and starting the ball rolling. Once there is an event to organize around, I've been finding tons of Kerry groups looking to help, donate, etc.
I had to get done this week because in PA, no one new can register to vote after October 1st. So this is the biggest event I could pull together before I leave for vacation September 22nd.
This is the best, the absolute most I can do. If we all do all we can, we will win. That's what grassroots means to me. It's going to take grassroots to beat BushCo and the media. Let's go.

VOTER REGISTRATION & HAND-OUT EXTRAVAGANZA
Friday, September 17th. From 10am - 6pm. Carnegie Mellon University.
We have two tables reserved. We have all the volunteers needed for the first table.
The first table will have an assortment of these FREE Giveaways: JK2004 bumperstickers and buttons (homemade and official campaign), bookmarks with good websites for news, yard signs, cartoons, articles (such as William Pitt, Ron Reagan Jr.), policy lit from the Kerry campaign, flyers (including rosebud57's), and anything else donated by other Kerry groups (I'm hearing from new ones everyday). There will also be someone from the Kerry campaign there to answer questions.
We have TONS of giveaways. Hundreds and thousands of different things. We want anybody who wants JK bumperstickers/buttons to have JK bumperstickers/buttons and we'll give literature/the truth to all who will take it.
Oh, and we were given THREE huge vats of coffee from an excellent local coffehouse.
The other table is a hub for voter registration. There is a local group, VIE that is coordinating ALL of this. Any volunteers from any other groups can contact a webpage to volunteer in 2 hour slots. They are providing EVERYTHING for the voter registration and they are pros! Great people. They are going to COMB the campus.
Like I said, the main thing was getting the space reserved and establishing a minimum of things I could make for free or cheap (homemade bumperstickers, printouts), and then emailing the various people I've met working indirectly for JK all year.
But absolutely ANYBODY could do this, especially DUers.
Thanks if you've read this far. Lots of work left to do, but damn!
