We have lost Iraq and it's time to get out!
While against the war to begin with I am probably one of the last few on DU who thought we should hold out in Iraq for a while longer to see if the situation might improve. However, in the past two weeks it was revealed that we no longer control most of Iraq. The elections are sure to be postponed and as time goes on, the more they hate us the larger the insurgency grows and the worse things get. Chances are that the elections will never happen as things are getting worse every day, not better. Lets get out before things really blow up and we loose any more soldiers for this idiotic blunder.

We should learn from Vietnam and cut our losses and let the Iraq people have a civil war to work things out on their own. It's their country lets let them have it back. Sorry we blew up your country and killed 11,000 civilians and are now leaving you in a civil war that will probably kill tens of thousands more people. But hay, everyone makes mistakes. What a complete disaster!

Buy the way, who else recently gave up hope like I did? Or was I the last person on DU?
