To watch or not to watch (MNF)
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 08:47 PM by abernste
I REALLY want to watch Monday Night Football but swore that I'd quit watching until they get rid of Al Michaels (or at least force him to apologize for last week's comment).

Unfortunately the temptation is getting worse. Aaagggghhhh!!!

1. It's on radio
Turn the sound down on the TV, and turn up the radio.

And I don't care if Al Michaels says that Bush is Jesus incarnate. I'm watching the Vikings/Eagles game next Monday night.

5. What the hell is wrong with me!
So I decided to watch.

And Al Michaels just did a bit on Condoleeza Rice -- she was in the crowd. Why the hell can't I just watch football in peace?!?!?

12. Al (Rush) Michaels said:
Michaels was pointing out that Condaleeza Rice was at the game. They talked about her, and how at one time, she wanted to be the NFL commissioner. Madden said "she could hold on for a year or two, I think Pete Tagliabu (sp?) will be stepping down."

Michaels' response: "I think she'll want to wait at least another 4 years. BUT; we're only supposed to talk about football."

Madden, to his credit, was silent.

Send those complaints to ABCSports/Monday Night Football

20. there may not be football....
in 4 years the way things are going in this country with the thugs in the WH....cant people understand that we had 911 because of people like condi who were stuck fighting the cold war when they took over President Gore's house and could not care less about terrorism? Our country is suffering because of them....we need a better country and world....these people have to go!

14. Madden is a Democrat
I'm surprised he tolerates this from Michaels, he's been pretty silent.

16. Politics aside...Madden's a blathering idiot.
He's the guy who ends up sitting next to you at the bar, when you just want to watch the game quietly, and he won't shut up. I know it's their job to make the game interesting, but fer chrissakes, have a point when you talk, John.

Between the two of them, I literally have to mute the audio in order to watch MNF anymore.

Michaels, feh. If I cared what a has-been with a microphone thought, I might actually be offended by his digs at Kerry's expense.

Ever since the NFL got rid of the running game and went for the "passing game" I can't bear to watch.

Give me Walter Payton grinding it out any day.

Football is ruined w/ astroturf and glossy uniforms.

18. what?
how many rb's got over 100 yards this week?

11? maybe 12?

and what does a uniform's glossiness have to do with anything?

you're absolutely right about turf though. it's of the devil.
