Poll watching: Kerry on the defensive
I've been looking around for the latest polling and I found this one site:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/bush_vs_kerry_sbys.html

Looks like it's coming to blows in Nevada, and surprisingly to me, Wisconsin and Colorado. West Virginia seems red but the polling doesn't look terribly good either.

I'm afraid that we've lost Missouri and Ohio. Not sure, but definitely afraid.

I'm terribly worried that it's Kerry, not Bush, that needs most of the battlegrounds to break for him at this point, and that's not a position we want to be in. It seems we're struggling to defend the blue states instead of picking off the red ones. This isn't how this campaign was supposed to go!

2. Poll watching: STOP IT!!!!
Bush is the one in precarious position. The fundamentals favor us, NOT Bush. We just need to GOTV.
Wisconsin and PA are close but will break our way on election day if we GOTV.
We have Bush on his heels in Colorado and Virginia.
They have their work cut out for them too.

3. It's close, but Wisconsin is ours
ignore gallup. :)

Ohio and Missouri are getting an ad push, so don't count them out yet.

Also Colorodo is possible, imo. and we can still get half its EC, if they pass that amendment.

4. I am worried about Pennsylvania.
I think the 2 out of 3 (Florida, Ohio, PA) requirement is for real.

Not having PA in the Kerry column at this point is very disturbing to me. Even Al Gore took it comfortably and for the state to be essentially tied at this point, with dumbya's horrible record is incomprehensible.

The Kerry campaign can't waste any more time... no more mistakes.... no more missed opportunities.

5. yes, PA is closer than it should be

a lot of states are like that(probablt cuz of swiftliars), but kerry will tilt it back after ads hopefully, also...

don't forget that a lot of GOTV groups are doing registraion blitzes this month and early Oct. We will win swing states if registration and turnout is high (i have little doubt that that will be the case).

also, either florida or ohio would be a huge help, but we can win without them.

7. Can you tell me what GOTV is?
I was optimistic about registration and turnout up until the past few days.

What I am concerned about in that the media has become a tool of Rove. Instead of focusing on issues that are positive for Kerry (Iraq, economy, healthcare, the phoniness of the "war on Terror", etc.) they focus on "the documents scandal" (ignoring the fact that the coWard's TANG service record is full of holes and anything but honorable), idiotic polls that say the race is over and Kerry's confused message and campaign.

The problem is, there is some truth to the last thing they focus on.

If this situation does not change, some Democrats will be discouraged and this will hurt turnout.

8. gotv = get out the vote
yeah, i have no idea what to do about the media. I was hoping that kerry and the DNC would stay away from AWOL, but they are running with it I think. But the media will keep the 'doc are fake' story up as long as they can. Kerry should stick to the issue.

and while he does that, I wish that he would do more tv talk show appearances and bypass the spin of the sleazy cable channels.

9. Thanks, re GOTV.
I too would like to see Kerry appear on talk shows and do everything he can to bypass the cable shows.

Only problem with such appearances now would be how does he answer the inevitable questions: "what do you think of the Bush AWOL accusations?" "what do you think of the allegations in Kitty Kelly's book."

He probably says he has nothing to say about the Kelly book... but what does he say about AWOL? Hasn't he commented negatively about Bush in TANG before?

I suspect they are counting on a breakthrough in the debates. I think that's a mistake.

register some democrats or go for a walk...but don't post that negative thought forms here....only positive....we must create lots of positive thought forms.....and if you can't do that ...go pound sand :):):)
