A bright campaign note! John Edwards came to Tuscon
Edited on Tue Sep-14-04 03:39 AM by saracat
today. The Republicans called it a "farewell tour". It was, for Bush! 10,000 people paced the convention center and thousands were turned away at the door! Repug protesters got in and chanted "four more years!" and shouted other absurdities.Edwards laughed at them, and all 10,000 of us stamped our feet and drowned them out with"two more months!" Oh, ye of little faith.Turn off the TV and ignore those rigged polls!
On the way home, in Phoenix, I stopped at my local supermarket ,in my repug neighborhood, and the checker noticed my Kerry Edwards button. As loud as could be she said," I guess I know who your voting for?" I said "Absolutely!" She responded, "I hate Bush. Kerry is going to win because I don't know anyone who would vote for him!" The customers in line behind me all joined in with various Bush disparagements. I replied "Are you all registered to vote?" They roared out "yes!" And then the bag boy agreeded that anyone who would vote for Bush must have something wrong with them!
10,000 plus people at an Edwards rally and enormous support in the heartland, a supermarket! We will prevail!
BTW, all the local media were present, filmed the entire thing, and ran only 15 sec, didn't mention the crowd, and went directly to at least a minute of a Bush speech. We must win without the media!
