QUIT worrying about the polls and go REGISTER someone to vote
Damn. We Democrats can complain alot. If the polls are not in our favor, then we (not anyone else) are failing.

Let's get off our ass, jump on our donkey, and go register voters.

Damn the polls. It is all designed for us to give up. We learned 2 years ago not to do this.

1. I got two people to register...
Not many but much better than zero.

So we have two new Kerry votes. One in NJ and one in MD. I'm working on a vote in Virginia!

2. Agreed.
IMHO the polls are bullshit anyway. We need to concentrate on registering Kerry voters. Every day off I have until Oct/4th is going to that cause.

4. Don't Believe the Polls!!!
This race will be won on the ground. I'm in Florida and I've gotten 5 people who either voted Nader or didn't vote in 2000 to commit to Kerry. And then there is this from Tucson:

Edwards rouses southern Arizona Democrats

By Arthur H. Rotstein

ASSOCIATED PRESS

TUCSON - Richard Perez and other Democrats liked the message they heard vice presidential candidate John Edwards deliver Monday.

More than 5,000 Democratic supporters, mostly from Tucson, the state's Democratic bastion, cheered Edwards repeatedly as he blistered President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney on a range of issues from the economy, health care and education to Iraq.

Perez, 49, an air conditioning contractor from Oro Valley, said he can't afford health insurance and was the only member of his family to vote for Democrat Al Gore for president four years ago.

Now, he said, "EIGHTY PEOPLE in my family are going to vote for Kerry."

5. How do you register someone to vote?
I know they can go different places - Motor Vehicle etc., but can I print out the forms, have them fill them out & mail the forms or have them mail the forms themselves? How does this work? I'm in Missouri. Also, is there a site where I can find out where they go to vote?

7. Check with these guys
http://actforvictory.org/

Registering people to vote is pretty much all they do, and there's chapters in many states. Your county should have a registrar of voters, who will be more than happy to inform you of how to go about it and, more importantly, your state's laws regarding the registration of voters.

10. OR - if have have 2 free hours this week ~
just call up your local Dem Party office and ask what you can do. There should be plenty of EASY things that don't necessarily involve public contact (for the shy). Like:

Answer phones,
data entry - so others can make calls to get out the vote,
find missing phone #'s for registered dems and unaffiliated voters for get out the vote calls,
make get out the vote calls,
walk neighborhoods with local candidates,
sit in the party office to hand out signs and stickers,
put a sign in your yard,
etc, etc, etc

This is what the conservatives have been getting very good at for the last 3 decades. We just have to buckle down and get to work!
