Culver - A group of Indiana high school students is saddling-up for the ride of a lifetime.

Riders from Culver Academies were invited to march in the inaugural parade next week in Washington D.C. The beat of 400 hooves will help march the nation into a new era.

"It's honestly kind of giving me chills to think, 'Wow, I'm getting to ride for the first African-American president'," said Austin Chandler of the Black Horse Troop..

The procession to the president will wind them through the streets of the nation's capital.

"When you see a hundred horses heading down Pennsylvania Avenue and 72 horses have American flags. It is absolutely awesome for the spectators and the president," said Lynn Rasch, coach and choreographer of the Equestriennes.

"After four or five months of preparation, it's finally here," said Chandler.

I was so sick of people saying "Oh, you're from a red state."

4. Are they still forcing plebes to scream at the top of their lungs?
I've never understood that lesson. Pretty near everyone I attempt it with takes offense. I could have done without that intentional training of how to interact with authority figures.

Still have an absolute policy of "no hazing"?

8. I don't know about Culver, but Indiana University has a no hazing policy
and I suspect the same holds true for the other universities. Campus authorities have been cracking down on hazing, even in the Greeks, after several students died or were hospitalized after having to engage in binge drinking as part of some sort of initiation.
