This is what this campaign has become...becuase the media / WH will not stay on issues that affect everyday americans:

* exporting our jobs
* ridiculous medicare bill and healthcare costs
* admin. fighting min wage and overtime rules
* out of control deficits which affect soc sec and medicare solvency

Instead,we have to debate AWOl, fonts in documents and cociane usage by this asshole for a president.

I am soooo tired of this bullshit media propping up a damn loser and a liar!

1. If Bush's record ever makes it into the media
I agree this thing would be over in no time. Perhaps more of us need to demand they focus there, I still think we get the media we deserve or demand.

*Worst environmental record ever - poisoning rivers and skies - exploiting public lands etc.
*Terrible foriegn policy that has destroyed US credibility
*Millions more Americans poor and uninsured

2. I think its beyond a quagmire
Even large sections of Baghdad itself are no longer under U.S. control. Its gone from quagmire to us losing. I wish the media would talk about this more.

3. We need to hammer away at this quagmire mess. It's unreal the chaos
that is in Iraq that bush has created.

5. It's not just the media
The party and Kerry's campaign have also played a role in the current climate.

The Iraq War debacle was all but handed to us on a silver platter as a hotbutton issue, but Kerry has effectively taken that off the table.

If he were to admit that his IWR vote was wrong, and if he were to say that giving BushCo carte-blanche to wage war in Iraq was a mistake, he might still be able to use the war as an issue.

Instead, he put on the "mine's bigger" show at the DNC, and focused on his 16 months in 'Nam instead of his excellent 19+ year record in the Senate. His emphasis on his exploits of 35 years ago created a climate where the Swift Boat Liars could effectively smear him-- taking the focus off the issues of TODAY, which are much more pressing than who did what back in 1969.

Democrats have always had a problem with nuance, because we tend to see the world in shades of gray, unlike the Repubs who see everything as black and white. Unfortunately, nuance doesn't play well in the media, and his team (and surrogates) need to come up with better, "media-friendlier" ways to get his platform out.

6. AWOL and cocaine establish Bush as a LIAR for those who
aren't capable of following policy and int'l news. Once his character is revealed, the rest of the lies are obvious.
