Something just disappeared out of a NYT article online
I read over on LBN about Cheney saying today at a stump stop that "Russia got his" and now maybe other countries will reconsider coming on board with us and our preemptive wars.

But apparently the NYT pulled that part off the site and the WaPo is running a very watered down story on it, with the "Russia got his" quote removed.

EH?? WTF?

Can anyone help me? I need it in a debate with undecideds and a couple of freepers on a non-freeper site.

Here's the link on LBN: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x825010

The man is dancing on the Russian's GRAVES and I can't find this quote anywhere now. It apparently used to be on that page party line cites in his post.

1. I've searched over and over
and can't find it either. Note that the original story isn't bylined, implying a Reuters or AP feed. I can't find it at either of those places ...

But without the "Russia got his" line:

On edit: Makes me wonder if the LBN thread was linked to the wrong article to begin with?

9. I found the WaPo page but I wanted the Russia got hit quote
which is conveniently missing from WaPo.

I actually ended up finding it in a little blurb on MSNBC:

But when you click on the link, the story is about health care as the title suggests. Memory Hole???

7. Google Search Screen Shot
Did a search on Google news for +Ottumwa +Cheney +Russia -- it came up with a link to the NYT site -- snippet of information included:

Here's the text of the article pre-scrubbed:

OTTUMWA, Iowa, Sept. 13 - Mr. Cheney said Monday that last week's massacre at a school in the southern Russian town of Beslan had caused some foreign leaders who have been skeptical of America's aggressive foreign policy to reconsider.

"Some of our European friends have been somewhat ambivalent," Mr. Cheney told a town hall meeting inside an airport hangar on the outskirts of this small town in southeast Iowa. He mentioned no nations by name.

Some foreign countries have probably been thinking that "if they kept their heads down," their citizens would not suffer terrorist attacks, the vice president said. "Well, Russia got his anyway," he said.

As a result, Mr. Cheney said, "people are reassessing now" whether they should shed their ambivalence and openly support Mr. Bush's policies.
