3. His sister Robin died of leukemia when he was 6...
...and Poppy & Bar buried her without a funeral, and didn't even tell lil' Georgie what happened to Robin until much later.

Pretty fucked up.

Oh, and he most likely has undiagnosed ADHD and/or dyslexia, in addition to serious anxiety - which he used to medicate with alcohol, but now prefers prayer and rigorous exercise.

10. They didn't tell him what happened!!!
Any more details? I am facinated by Robin Bush. In a Salon review of that book, they mention that the family played golf the next day.

12. Yeah, they did.
Bury the kid, then play 18.

If they were that far in denial, imagine how it affected the son.

16. I'm tempted to pin the whole psychological trauma
of Bush on the death of Robin. I don't care how much your family sucks, a six year old boy loves his three year old sister.

I want someone to name a band "Robin Bush". I want to say her name as loudly as possible, as often as possible. Not talking about her, or other traumatic events in other families, is exactly what's wrong with this country.

I'm actually writing a folk song about her.

Which kids were born by the time she died, besides George?

How long before they told him?

2. Is the book worth the $$?
I've been pondering the purchase and don't have a lot of money for books. Is this one worth it?

5. Definitely.
I've always enjoyed learning about psychology, anyway - so it's doubly interesting to me.

Plus it should be a good precursor to the Kitty Kelley book, to get some insights into the "whys" of the Bush clan.

7. Zero.
The guy is in serious denial and has made an art out of avoidance -- see any unscripted Bush press conference.

13. Crazy as a shit-house rat.
Dividing things into good and evil is a technique that Bush uses to avoid having to think about things too hard. Thinking makes him anxious.

14. Meglomaniac
is the diagnosis this author actually gives in the last chapter. He also states that Bush's mental state makes him unfit to have his finger on the nuclear button.
