Have you seen the new DNC ad: "Fortunate Son?"
Scathing, and takes off where F9/11 leaves off--

Watch it and let me know what you thinkg. Will this be played widely? It is sort of long, it seems.

1. Just my opinion but...
While it was okay I wasn't thrilled with it. It's way too long to be shown widely and I wish the DNC and others would start taking W.rong to task for recent things. Lying about his Guard duty is an issue, granted, but I want it be presented among a litany of all of his other lies as well...

Just not damning enough for me.

2. I also wonder if its time has passed....
We needed it out there 2-3 weeks ago. I agree the length is an issue, but the CCR score might just get some people watching that wouldn't ordinarily!

4. Yes, it might have been more effective...
If it had been presented promptly in response to the SB Liars...

I know that I certainly wouldn't be as tired of Vietnam issues 2-3 weeks ago as I am now...

9. I am with you absoutely
There are so many recent lies, so much misleading. So much wrong over the last 4 years. That is what we need to go after.

3. I wish it were shorter and more harsh
point to the fact that the 150 that George probably leapfrogged came home in bodybags.

6. If the know who the 150 were...
They should check and do a body count, listing the names of all those GWB leapfrogged over who never made it back home.

10. Yeah, surely there is a list somewhere
They need to find that list, and look up the records on the men that were skipped over. How many ended up going to Vietnam and how many didn't make it home. That is what REALLY matters.

5. I'd e-mail it to every Guard and Reservist family in the US

Those are the people who need to see it. They won't think it's too long.

7. It's okay
but a more effective ad would be showing the press conference where Bush said, Bin Laden "wasn't a priority"--that is devastating along with his statement, "We can't win the War on Terror."

8. I thought it was really just okay. It needs edited and it needs to be
more shocking that Bush lied by omission. I hope they use test audiences before they release this, it is too slow and too long and too laborious with details. Americans can connect the dots, you don't have to ask the questions, you just have to promote the negligence. DNC really needs to bat home that Bush isn't a Texan, but a spoiled brat who has taken every opportunity given to him and threw it away like spoiled bored rich white boys do.

11. I think it's fantastic.
1. Makes the point right at the beginning that "we expect our leaders to tell the truth" even about things that happened 30 years ago. Then, it repeatedly uses the coWard's own words to show he lies.

2. Does not use the disputed documents in any way.

3. A very serious, powerul ad. The narrative is perfect and the connection to guardsmen serving in Iraq today is the punchline.

4. The repetitious use of "son of privilege" and "fortunate son" is great.

It's 2:45 long, a mini-documentary. A good internet ad and it will serve as a reference ad for future, much shorter tv ads on the same subject.

12. Ad Proof We Still Don't Get It....
This ad is proof that as Dems, we still don't get it - we do not know how to sell our message well at all and I'm getting fed up with it.

The damned DNC does not have to sell us to vote! And this is the crowd that will watch this ad over and over again - the party faithful. When are they going to get that?

I don't believe there is a huge number of undecideds as compared to those out there that believe all of the misperceptions about Bush - that he tells the truth, he's resolute, a strong leader. I want to scream at the DNC - LOOK AT THE DAMNED POLLS!! Bush, a big chickenshit, is seen as tough, macho, our protector, while the real protector is seen as a waffler, nuanced and indecisive.

These ads must get better and more memorable.

13. I totally agree
I want to see an ad discrediting his service, but I also want to see ads showing him saying "dead or alive, we will get Osama" and then him saying "Osama is not the priority." I want to hear him say "we are winning the war on terror" then "we can't win the war on terror." Lastly, the ad should show him saying "the world is a safer place under my leadership" followed by "the world is a very dangerous place right now." ...and he calls John Kerry a flip flopper?

Everytime I see his face on television, I want to run from the room screaming.
