My suggestion for an overarching theme to the Kerry-Edwards Campaign. They need a simple phrase that identifies the strength of our ticket, and what the Democrats will accomplish if elected. I think that does it.
The public consistently polls that they believe the country is currently heading in the wrong direction. This theme reinforces that feeling and identifies the Democratic Party as the answer to Bush's implied misdirection. Every Prescient since Herbert Hoover created jobs while in office, Bush lost them. It's time to put America back on track. Under Bill Clinton, we reversed continuing budget deficits, recorded surpluses, and began to shore up Social Security and Medicaid. Now under Bush we are once again flooded by red ink. It's time to put America back on track. After 9/11 the nation stood united as Americans against a common threat, with the world behind us ready to respond to America's leadership. Bush squandered that moment, and divided Americans like never before by pushing a radical ideological agenda, while turning the worlds sympathy into distaste for his arrogant go it alone foreign policy. We used to be united at home and respected abroad, It's time to put America back on track. America was always the world leader in environmental awareness, leading the fight to preserve and protect the natural world while curbing pollutants that threaten our health. Bush pulled out of the Kyoto Accords, and time and again overruled the advice of his own EPA while rewarding his big corporate allies with environmental loopholes to exploit. It's time to put America back on track. Under Clinton, millions of Americans were lifted out of poverty. Under Bush, millions of Americans have fallen into it. It's time to put America back on track. Under Clinton, our military reached the height of efficiency and effectiveness. Under Bush, it has been stressed to the near breaking point by a refusal to provide it with the resources needed to accomplish the mission it has been asked to perform. It's time to put America back on track.
This theme identifies Kerry-Edwards with everything positive about America while continually blaming Bush for leading America down the wrong paths.
