Kerry Odds hit 2:1 -- What are we going to do?
and still lengthening: http://bestbetting.com/Default.aspx?group=1305932

Taken with the latest polls, this seems to be a strong indicator that John Kerry is not going to win doing what he is now. What would wake up Americans to John Kerry?

6. That was to save ammo
The colonial army had precious little to spare, and was meant to ensure lethal hits only.
I like the spirit behind your charge but don't see the analogy.

20. Ammo = Media attention
and when it comes to (positive) attention from the media, meaning that they report what they are saying, the Dems are short on ammo

5. The RNC isn't two weeks past
Frankly, are 2:1 odds that bad at this point? When more polls start showing a dead heat the odds will narrow.

Wasn't Bush's odds down at one time? Hardly a "strong indicator John Kerry is not going to win..."

9. freak out
what else can we do, we MUST freak out at all of this stupid shit that doesn't mean anything.

It worked for Kerry in the primaries, remember when he was wringing his hands at all the bad polls, like the ones that had him at 4% a month before Iowa?

12. The two most recent polls
Rasmussen and Invesators Business daily indicate the race coming back to a dead even race, and the Investors Business Daily polls is callng the latest trend the beginning of the endo of the Bush bounce from the Republican Convention:

Bush-Kerry Race Tied As RNC Bounce Fades, New IBD Survey Shows
Monday September 13, 7:00 pm ET
Ibd Staff

In IBD/TIPP's first poll of likely voters, conducted Sept. 7-12, both men garnered 47% in a two-man race and 46% in a three-way race. In the latter scenario, independent Ralph Nader would take just 3% of the vote.
Among registered voters, Kerry holds a two-point edge over Bush, with or without Nader, the poll found.

For polls taken after Labor Day, pollsters consider "likely voters" a more accurate indicator of actual election outcomes.

IBD/TIPP defines likely voters as adult Americans who say they are very likely to vote in November, have a high level of interest in the presidential election and have voted in every or nearly every presidential election.

Other polls show Bush ahead by four to 11 points. The latest Zogby and Fox/Opinion Dynamics polls give Bush a four-point lead. He has a five-point lead in an AP/Ipsos poll and 11 points in the latest Time magazine survey.

"The boost Bush got during the RNC and the aura that surrounded an event marked by clever speeches and hitchless execution may be fading," said Raghavan Mayur, president of TIPP, a unit of TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence, IBD's polling partner.

http://biz.yahoo.com/ibd/040913/feature_1.html

More of the first line pollsters are starting to reflect a campaign that is becoming dead even agian, and only secondary media sources are showing large leads for Bush. Many of the first line pollsters are pointing out errors of sampling in the polls that show Bush with large leads.

28. It's a bit confusing...
2:1 = Bet 2 dollars on Bush to win 1 dollar (You win, you take home 3 total dollars based on risking 2 dollars). Or, bet 1 dollar on Kerry to win 2 dollars (You win, you take home 3 total dollar based on risking 1 dollar).

Vegas odds on the roulette table is 1:1. If you bet 1 dollar and win, you take home 2 dollars, based on risking 1 dollar. Maybe that's where you're confused? (The take home 2 dollars on a 1 dollar bet)??
