James Taylor
Edited on Mon Jan-19-09 01:59 AM by firedupdem
I have looked at this concert twice today and I have to rewind his performance each time. That was really good and it really had meaning for me.

Jennifer Nettles - She can really sing!! John Legend did a good job but the back up male singer in the band can't be touched!

1. Four Years Ago...
James Taylor was also great at the 'Vote For Change' concert. He said something to the effect, "When deciding on a candidate, he always votes for the smart one."

11. Saw him with the Dixie Chicks then.
Front row! James never settles for mediocre and Sunday was another example. His experience shows. I love his guitar playing even on an electric! (Probably too cold for fine wood out there even though Springsteen had his old wooden beater.)

2. I've seen it three times now. It was great.
But that sleeping toddler stole the show.

6. Jennifer Nettles has been described
as having a ferocious voice - and she sure does.
John Legend was good too but who was the unnamed man standing next to Jennifer Nettles? - he has a terrific voice.

12. Some many moons ago Carlos Santana offered praise for James Taylor
at a benefit concert both had agreed to do.

Carlos said to ROLLING STONE's reporter, "James Taylor gives off a vibration."

I can't pick a dozen favorites from Taylor's repertoire. I need a minimum limit of a hundred, at least.

I imagine a James Taylor CD will be playing in my car for the next couple of weeks.

18. Some seriously excellent parenting going on there...
A household with a lot of James Taylor music seems like a mighty fine place to me.

Both sides of my family are descended from Minnesota Farmer-Laborites.

25. Ah. There's a case of outstanding political genes being passed down
to a new child!

Odin, I bet your household was not only right-on in politics and music, but with a lot of other things, too.

And tomorrow is going to be a damn good day for liberals!

I totally understand and rescind my "fuck you" comment earlier today on another thread. Please accept my sincere apologies.

22. I don't have a "grunge" against Boomers.
Edited on Mon Jan-19-09 03:31 PM by Odin2005
It's individual Boomers that act all high and mighty and self-righteous and treat younger people as unworthy that I don't like.

19. I can't imagine having to play guitar in that cold- his fingers must have been numb
he did great, as always.

Back in the 80s I saw him in Philly at an outdoor arena...I had covered seats.

When the chorus of this song started..."shower the people"...the outside crowd roared. It started to rain right when the chorus started.

It was AMAZING!!!
