I remember when they did this a few months ago, after Obama got elected, they also found a way to work out how Palin could end up president.

Basically

Obama gets arrested declared ineligable
But Joe's not the president, either because he wasn't elected, he just shared the ticket
However, then the presidency goes to McCain, except, he's not a natural citizen either.
Thus, making Palin president!

5. I think I understand where the Birthers are coming from

For nearly all of the past eight years, the Birthers have been terrified of anything perceived as "foreign". This is evidenced in the attacks on Muslims in this country (even attacks on perceived Muslims such as Seikhs).

Along come Barack Hussein Obama. He has a "foreign" name. His father was not an American citizen. His stepfather took him to a foreign nation at a young age.

To the Birthers, Barack Hussein Obama is the embodiment of everything they've been terrified of for the past eight years.

Is it any wonder their terror resulted in the refusal to believe he was born in this nation? He's foreign in every aspect of his being, except for being born in America to these craven cowards. Of course he couldn't have been born in this country. He's too foreign!

And when it's shown to them time and again that Barack Hussein Obama is a native born American citizen, they finally come up with a contrived argument whereby even if he was born in the United States, he's still not a natural born citizen because his father was not a citizen (even though Chester Arthur's father was not a citizen when Arthur was born). They go so far as to rewrite the history of Chester Arthur in their quest to deny Obama!

To put it succinctly, the Birther movement was born out of the craven cowardice of those who espouse the Birther gospel.

8. It's their only hope

I heard one birther say "this is our only hope to stop him". They have nothig else to hold on to so they will hold on to this for at least the next 4 years. They will ignore everything that doesn't reinforce their fantasy.

That's ok with me. It makes them look delusional and it's a complete waste of their time. It's better they waste their efforts on something that's already been dismissed than trying to create some new scandal.
