Edwards' Tucson Visit-LARGEST CROWD FOR EDWARDS EVER! (article)
That's right, between 8,000-8,500 is what I heard attended the Tucson Convention Center to hear Edwards speak. This means beyond a full house, I gotta say I had my doubts of what sort of turn out would happen for a Monday noontime event, but boy was I wrong, THANK YOU FELLOW TUCSONIANS AND ALL WHO SHOWED UP TO SUPPORT OUR FUTURE VICE PRESIDENT!!

Anyway here's the article from The Daily Wildcat

Edwards visits Tucson

Vice presidential candidate John Edwards rallied thousands in Tucson yesterday, urging young people and other voting blocs to help turn out the votes needed to guarantee Democrats a victory this November.

2. JRE
Edwards should be going to college campuses on battleground states this fall. I think it could swing alot of votes - both on campus and in the "college-towns" and environs generally.

Maybe a attend a few big football games like Ohio State/Michigan or Florida State/Florida

5. See it where? I can't find it and also was the Raleigh rally K and E?
I'm saying largest rally that had ONLY Edwards and no Kerry or any other prominment politicians except of course the local well knowns.

If it was Edwards only, then I stand corrected, I thought I read in the article or someone earlier said that it was the largest Edwards only rally, but I could be wrong it would make sense that Edwards home state should garner the largest outcome

7. Here's where I got it from the article
"Walitsky estimated 8,000 people filled the convention center, making the rally the "largest Edwards-only event so far in the campaign trail. "

Overall the point I'm trying to press is, Kerry is going to win in Arizona pure and simple they are winning this state. The Bushilini Crime family will NOT take Arizona, despite the crooked efforts of the freepers down here with their smug and cocky ways and efforts to scare people away from the polls or from showing vocal support for Kerry and Democrats.

10. oh, i know, your post was a good one and hopeful one
the fact still comes down to edwards by himself getting a much larger turnout than cheney.

i think some of us just wanted it to be clear that there have been huge turnouts elsewhere since the media often downplays this.

8. St. Paul/Minneapolis Labor Day crowd was 12,000
for an Edwards (only) appearance. That's a media estimate, so there were probably more. But that was outside; overfilling a convention center is terrific. What bothers me is that we never hear about these huge crowds in the national media.

Oh... silly me... that's not news worth reporting, is it?

9. no no it's cool look right or wrong about my statement
Here's one fact that can't be disputed:

Edwards got 8000+ Cheney got 3000 when he came to Tucson.

PIMA COUNTY IS KERRY COUNTRY!! KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE IN AZ!

11. That's the very cool thing -- 8,000 vs. 3,000! Eat poop, Cheney.
Of course, it's hard to draw a big crowd when you have to screen everybody to be sure they all adore you and you make them sign loyalty oaths. I'm sort of surprised Frankencheney even got that many. Good for Tucson, for getting so many out to see Edwards. No loyalty oaths required, either, I bet.

Here in MN, Cheney appeared in the same city on the same day as the Edwards event -- but it was an exclusive, private affair with only about 100 hard-core Repub suckups attending. Edwards' appearance (open to the public, 12,000+ unscreened people) was delayed for 1-1/2 hours because his plane couldn't land while Cheney occupied our freaking airspace!

12. Nope they were unscreened in fact
as you can see from the article even freepers were allowed in.

The untold story told to me by another Young Democrat was that there were 3 people wearing Bush-Cheney shirts who were approached by one of the coordinators who told them that they were more than welcome to stay and watch, but if they start any trouble they're out.

They just sat there and did nothing according to my YD friend.
