Who here isn't afraid of politics?
I'm reading these threads today and it's making me sick. The neverending whinging about this or that poll. If a good poll comes out, optimism explodes, and if a bad poll comes out, people sink into a cesspool of agony.

That isn't astute political analysis people. It's a form of manic depression. And too god damn many DUers are suffering from it.

You see it when a bad poll comes out and users whine about Americans and how dumb they are.

You see it when a bad poll number comes out and users start to nitpick every little aspect of the Kerry campaign.

You see it when someone despairs about ever being able to break through the media bullshit force-field.

You see it when a user cries to their mommy that they wish Dean was the nominee.

In short, you see it on every other fucking post on this board. What's the point of it all? It certainly can't be to help defeat Bush. This is not the suggestion box of the Kerry campaign. I guarantee that posting here has no effect on the operation of JFK's political machine. So I ask again, what's the point? Just therapy?

Get your therapy somewhere else.

There was a time when I held out high hopes for this board as a means to organize Democrats for political campaigns. Find out where a campaign need is and address it. Not just bitch about it.

Sadly, it seems that's beyond us, at least for the present. But maybe we can at least control some of the emotions on this board. I'm going to take a pledge that I will not post any sniping, despairing, non-hopeful posts to threads that contain downbeat information. I hope others can do the same. Politics ain't therapy people.
