I think INCOMPETENT should be the attack theme
Have Dems been calling this administration incompetent? I remember back in the 1992 campaign Gore used to go on this rap about how everything that should be up (eco growth, employment, wages etc) is down and everything that should be down (unemp, crime, health coverage) is up. Seems to me that result of everything this administration does on either the foreign or domestic front is the exact opposite of what they intended. Yet the aura of cool, smooth, in control GOP competence remains. I think the Kerry camp will soon hit uopn this theme. His relistic statement on Iraq today - that things are not getting better - is a good sign.

1. ALL HAT, NO CATTLE - a forger(y), a liar. Take anything he has
said or done - upon cursory examination, it's a lie/forgery. Turn the RNC mantra (forgery forgery forgery) back on bush.

Yellow cake from Niger comes to mind...WMD's in Iraq...smoking gun becomes a mushroom cloud...funding for any of his pie in the sky programs...honorable service in TANG...Medicare scam...an endless list.

He's a certified forgery - all hat, no cattle. John Kerry said so, last week.

2. I agree Bushwakker
"It's the incompetence stupid!"

Even supporters of Iraq cannot defend the decisions made subsequent to the invasion.

Then add in incompetence on terrorism, fiscal policy, and the environment.

No one's been held accountable for any of it.

4. I've been thinking about History and how he'll be remembered.
Not sure I can condense it and convey it all.

6. It's about getting Bush associated with the word incompetent
rather than saying Kerry is competent. After all competent is the minimal level you would expect from someone in any situation. This is about tearing a hole in the facade of this failure of an administration. All the Dems should start using the word incompetent.

7. Have a different slant
While I ENTIRELY agree that Dufus is incompetent- I don't think that argument will resonate with his intellectually challenged supporters because- well- it's an argument. Bush's support is predominantly based on the perception that he is "strong", "decisive", and "tough on terrorism"- and THAT perception is NOT based on any sort of rational analysis of his performance. Instead, it comes from the accumulated effect of Chimpy giving us an endless stream of tough-guy sound bites. Such is the level of our national debate- and such is the analytical skills of a FRIGHTENINGLY large percentage of the voting public. IT IS TIME WE RECOGNIZED THAT- AND BROUGHT THE DEBATE TO THAT LEVEL. Like it or not- this is who we are as a nation.

What we CAN do is challenge this idiotic image of Chimpy as being "strong" and "decisive"- not with words- but with images. We have 7 minutes of this idiot reading "My Pet Goat" upon first learning that our nation was under attack. We have film footage of W looking like he was about to wet his pants at his first post 9-11 media appearance- and proof that Air Force One was Zig-Zagging the country while Richard Clark was left to call the shots on our immediate response. We have footage of Chimpy crossing his eyes and making faces at the camera immediately before announcing that we were sending US soldiers to fight and die in Iraq.

I am pulling my hair out here people! If images of Dukakis looking goofy riding in a tank could cost him an election- this shit should get W tarred-feathered- and run out of town on a rail! WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE-FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND OUR COUNTRY- SHOW THESE IMAGES ON MAINSTREAM TELEVISION!

9. Amen to that! "Deadly incompetence"...
should be the daily theme, spouted by all the surrogates. God knows there are plenty of examples to use.
