Kelley Book is Sort of a Dud..........
Spent about 4 hours at Borders this afternoon just trying to digest parts of the book that talked about Georgie. The hysterical thing is that these tv interviews are going to do 30,000 times more impact and damage to Bush than the book does!!

Basically she goes on and on about drunken Bush in prep school and college (which isn't going to disturb anyone). Then suddenly there just appears one line that says that Sharon Bush allegedly (or words to that effect) said Marvin and George did coke at Camp David when Pappa was president...period...end of sentence.....nuttin'. She says that the Houston crowd W and Laura hung out with was known for a lot of alcohol and drugs and that Laura would worry because he would be out all night, etc. (in other words it can easily be passed off as he was drinking like everyone knows and not necessarily drugs).

When it comes to AWOL time, she reports how the guy who trained Bush just gushes over him and tells that he was one of the finest piolts he trained, etc. (and Lauer didn't think Kitty report good stuff??--obviously didn't read the book). It goes through basically everything we knew with documents. It just tells how he worked on a campaign, etc. and then drifts off to Harvard. She has the Harvard prof tell about how he said his dad had strings pulled for him, etc. There was one part though that it's too bad people don't read.

The prof said that Bush stood out in this business school grad program because of how utterly devoid of human compassion he was. He said these were all conservatives, republicans and lots of rich students but that EVEN for that group which he said had at least human decency, that Bush had none. He would blame the poor for being lazy, etc. In a word, Bush doing his "compassionate shit" on the campaign trail is just that..shit.

Obviously I wasn't able to read it all. But I sure didn't get a sense of "look at this delicious dirt". Like I said, the idiot media and idiot Rove who have told the media to go after her are doing way more damage than if no one mentioned this book. This wouldn't make the church ladies turn against him if they read it (but I didn't get into any abortion stuff yet); but what they are hearing on the airwaves probably have their panties in a knot. Please give me your impressions if you've started to read the book yet.

1. I like what I'm reading!

I find it easy to read and to believe.

One of the things I was surprised about when reading the discriptions of the pictures: Barbara Bush did NOT attend her own mother's funeral!!

Telling and Compelling!

3. I just skipped to the parts about George because of time
I can see that in the overall she will paint a picture of a cold family, a little bitch that Babs is, whimpy boys (W always tried to hang out with the jocks even though he wasn't one just to have the image, etc.) and that they lie. But I was just disappointed in the George part because I thought maybe she had some things others haven't already pointed out.

2. Thanks for your review..............................
it makes me want to read it even more now. Finding out these little tidbits of information about the Krazy Kowboy make my day.

EVEN for that group which he said had at least human decency, that Bush had none. He would blame the poor for being lazy, etc. In a word, Bush doing his "compassionate shit" on the campaign trail is just that..shit.

Fits Bush to a tee.
