Is it just me
or is this depressing? It does not appear we are gaining any momentum at all.

Bush Making Gains in Battleground States

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) has been solidifying his gains in states that once were dead heats, forcing both parties' campaigns to alter strategies as the electoral battleground shrinks. Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) is struggling to stay afloat in some hotly contested states, including Missouri, Wisconsin and Ohio, where polls show Bush pulling ahead.

1. It's just you. I see Kerry signs and stickers everywhere. I see
media manipulation of what's going on, I see a lot of pissed off people ready to hand a pink slip to the GOP. That's what I see.

3. Did you read the latest
Carville Greenburg memo? Kerry has the issues and Chimpy is 5 points ahead.

5. No. I go by what I see happening around me. I'm just a checker player.
The checker players have had enough.

4. Not depressing, and here's why
polls aren't counting newly registered voters, among others.

When our local Democratic candidate for Congress comes to Harrison AR (which has a rep for being very conservative) and makes a pit stop and the convenience store clerk says, "I hope you're a Democrat, because we're all voting Democratic this year"--we have a chance not just of a victory but of a landslide.

6. those who voted for gore & had their votes stolen will not vote for bush.
not everyone who voted for bush will vote for bush.

those who had their votes stolen are passionately motivated.

those who stole those votes will do everything in their power to steal them again, and they ARE powerful.

they're counting on depressing us, and it ain't gonna happen. KERRY WILL WIN!

kerry actually taking office depends on the legitimacy of the election, & that is another story, entirely.

7. Don't be a wimp.
Who cares if your depressed?

Seriously, who cares?

Does you being depressed or not help us win? That's all I care about.

I thought this board was full of fighters. Guess I was wrong.

8. I see feel your pain because I was...
depressed in December because Kerry did not like the winner to the nomination. I cared about polls and I learned a huge lesson. I'm counting on turnout from Bush haters and I think we are going to be all right in November.

Victory is going to be sweet when you remember how depressed you were by looking polls.
