Obama tells America to grow up and set aside "childish things"

"On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things."

Personally, I found this the single most powerful passage of his Inaugural address.

1. It's an important one, all right.

The adults have come to town. Adults who know how to have fun but are seriously committed to doing the work it actually takes to run a country and being a shining light for the world..not a monster.

2. Childish things: do they include name calling?

I'd love to see an end to silliness like typing * instead of Bush, or mispelling John Boehner's name on purpose. But it's probably not that big a deal.

5. * is just an abbreviation of Bush*

The asterisk being for the footnote concerning his illegitimate win in 2000.

For example:

And yes, replacing someone's name with something else is name calling.
