There were a number of nominations that cleared the Senate with a voice vote yesterday.

It is my understanding that this "debate" will in no way threaten the confirmation of Sen. Clinton for Sec of State. However, it is the right of a Senator to object to the voice vote and tease the confirmation out into a recorded vote.

There are 3 hours of debate scheduled for this with a simple majority vote scheduled for later.

Sen. Kerry, as Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is floor managing the debate on this nomination.

4. wait a minute ... the meme was that she was the better choice of all three major
candidates (until Obama was set as THE candidate) AS CONSIDERED BY THE "CONSERVATIVES" ...

and now she's not qualified to be SoS???
