President Obama's salary has already been frozen - BY THE CONSTITUTION! End of Discussion
I would have loved to see Robert Gibbs smack down the reporter who kept asking whether President Obama would take a pay cut to "set an example" by pointing out that

1) The president has not cut anyone's salary. He imposed a wage freeze.

2) The president does not set or control his own salary. It is determined by Congress.

3) The Constitution PROHIBITS the president's salary from being raised or reduced during his term.

The President shall, at stated times, receive for his services, a compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that period any other emolument from the United States, or any of them Article II, Section 1.

I hope this settles the back and forth about whether President Obama should take a pay cut.

12. These guys are some lazy bastards, I must say!
They get the story wrong in the first place and then they don't bother to find out what a DUer did by simply looking it up. Geez, it's not like these guys don't have Google.

What a bunch of stupid losers this gang in the press corps is.

4. Yeah. Gibbs noted it, calmly, to the reporter. It's a matter of law,
not executive action. She didn't seem satisfied but it'll sink in, I suspect.

Basically along the lines of, "well shouldn't he set a good example and do it anyway?".

13. The whole idea that Obama would attempt to raise his salary (if he could, which he can't)
after making a big fuss about freezing the salaries of his senior staff just doesn't make any sense.

I have to wonder about how smart this group of reporters is...

14. I know. A few of the reporters seemed out to score a couple of points for hard hitting questions,
without the substance of journalism.

The whole riff on the do-over of the oath of office had me shaking my head. In hindsight, I guess it would have been easier for Obama and Roberts to make it a media event. Then they would only have to deal with the issue that they made it a media event.

:banghead:

5. I want to know WHO was the "fly weight" journalist who asked such an inane question?
What's wrong with these people who key in on snark and pettiness without doing THEIR HOMEWORK?!?

10. Yep, unconstitutional to reduce his salary...
The only thing he can do is receive the salary and then donate it if he feels that is an important thing to do.
