I told you guys that Kerry would get "Gored" by the press -- lookee here
Here's the latest, nauseating example:

Washington Post Staff Writer

. . .

Both candidates are targeting them with the ferocity of a Brett Favre bullet, but only John F. Kerry has fumbled the name of the hallowed grounds on which the Packers play, the frozen tundra of Curly Lambeau Field.

At a campaign event last month, the Democratic presidential nominee called it Lambert Field -- a slip of the tongue carried on television, in papers throughout the state and on ESPN's Web site.

That's akin to call the Yankees the Yankers or the Chicago Bulls the Bells. This is a place where Packers jackets often outnumber sports coats in church and thousands of fans wear a big chunk of yellow foam cheese atop their head with the pride of a new parent. President Bush's warning to terrorists is apropos to the passions of Packers fans -- you are either with 'em or against 'em.

"I got some advice for him," Bush told Wisconsinites a few days after the Lambert gaffe. "If someone offers you a cheesehead, don't say you want some wine, just put it on your head and take a seat at Lambeau Field." Vice President Cheney made the obligatory pilgrimage to Green Bay last week to pile on. "I thought after John Kerry's visit here I'd visit Lambert Field," Cheney told a crowd at a Republican fundraising dinner Thursday night. Then he went in for the kill. "The next thing is he'll be convinced Vince Lombardi is a foreign leader."

. . . .

Let's see -- Kerry misprounces the name of a football stadium and he gets an entire article devoted to the gaffe. Bush delivers a speech in which he laments that OBGYNs are no longer able to make love to their patients and the press just gives it a pass.

6. Um, you're thinking of the Washington Times
New York Times / Washington Post are the papers "of record", though both have had problems lately.

The New York Post is owned by Murdoch. The Washington Times is owned by the Moonies.

11. Joe's doing better than Kerry right now, but since I voted for Edwards
I don't really see the point of your remark. And I seriously doubt you actually bothered to "check" who my candidate was, since I've been a vocal Edwards supporter for a long time.

7. I plead "guilty" as one of those who was blaming Kerry for running
a slip-shod, confusing campaign but I now feel that it doesn't' matter what the sh*t the Democrats say be they Dukakis, Gore OR Kerry. Bush OWNS the media and there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

15. does anyone have a link to a listing of all the mispronunciations and
similar gaffes by Bush? Might be good to email the Post all of them and ask how many of these received front page coverage.

16. As a Packers fan this really pissed me off.
;) No, not really. Big Whoop. So he didn't grow up in Wisconsin. This proves that he is not ready to run our country. (/sarcasm off)

Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 07:05 AM by Algorem
Matt Lauer certainly appeared to have eased up on Kitty Kelley today and also tried to smooth over the golf-with-Bush1 this morning.DUers had to have a lot to do with this with their e=mails, phone calls andwhat else?
