FAUX news. Maybe he can start a Democratic Party boycott of FAUX News. Never grant any interviews to them, stick them in the back of the room during press conferances and never call on them.

Make sure they get left off airplanes and limit there access to the White House. Maybe all our elected Democratic party leaders could start doing this to them, hell they make shit up anyway. Why give them the time of day.

Its time to start taking back the airwaves, and cut the koolaid supply off. That would go a long way to restoring our country back to some normalcy.

1. And let's get "Doctor" Laura and Rush Limbaugh off the Armed Forces Radio Network.
Those two psychopathic bigots do not represent America. American taxpayers should not be footing the bill to broadcast them as our representatives to the world.

12. Rush DISRUPTS "good order" as Military Mbrs are censored not to disrespect their Commander in Chief.
Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 08:40 AM by ShortnFiery
There's a very good argument (military regulations) to cut that gas-bag Rushbo loose.

2. Maybe Pres. Obama
could check out Nova M and apply their model to the nation. Progressive thoughts and talk are alive and well in Phoenix. If it works here, why could it not transfer to the television and the nation? (I don't have cable but don't shows like KO and Rachel begin to bring back normalcy?) I agree with limiting FAUX access to the White House.

5. Sure, why would he want to diminish a blatant propaganda machine.
I am not talking about cutting off the press and mainstream media here. However if you can not see that FOX news channel is pure and simple hate filled, totally self serving for the wealthy elite, arrogant hypocrite's that call them selves Neocons which are nothing more than Corporatist fascists that poison the hearts and minds of simple people who are either to lazy or incapable of researching for themselves or mentally challenged with a low IQ, to comprehend good old fashioned propaganda.

Now hows that for a run on sentence?

15. It's not even the wealthy Elite...
Most of their audience is middle class that believes they are part of the wealthy elite.

The real wealthy elite are democrats...

16. I stand corrected, sorta, I was not very clear in my post WC.
Thanks for pointing that out, I meant that Rupert Murdoch(Wealthy Elite) puts out what his wealthy elite cronies want people, (his audience of lazy, inept or mentally challenged viewers) to see and here, which the majority are middle class on down.

FOX is owned and operated for the sole purpose of disseminating Neocon Corporate Fascist propaganda.

24. Fox News sucks. Completely.
But for a President to give an order to shut off a commercial network from all White House televisions would be ridiculous.

6. FoxNoise WISHES it was that important.
PRESIDENT Barack Obama has more important things to do. Faux is nothing but a teeny little gnat flapping around trying to attract attention. It's pathetic really.

they have a chance to respond to negative and intentionally misleading information.

14. Maybe they could put the heat on FAKE news by always calling in the news for a news conference
every time FAKE news puts something out that is fake. Get the real news organizations pissed off at FAKE news.

20. that's a very good idea
Of course, they couldn't do it every time Fox lies. Maybe just a daily news conference that addresses each lie from the previous 24 hours.

21. Oh absolutely not! Give them front row seats!
First, the antics they pull, and spew, I think, has done more to help the Democratic rise to power as much as the dumb things shrub and his party have done! Every time Coulter opens her mouth, sure she gets nods from the morons that support her, the fundies that won't change their mind no matter what anyway, but the ones out there that are "swing voters", and "moderates", I've no doubt that Coulter, Laura, Limbag, and Faux news do more to make people support us than just about anything else with the garbage they spew.

Especially with such strong, statesman President like President Obama (is it me, or does it just make the heart warm over to be able to call him that now?) who's already proven that when they try to "pin him" he's more than capable of showing them up for the fools they are!

No, don't ban them, and give them the censorship crutch I KNOW they are wishing for. Let them show themselves for the asses they are, and for President Obama to smack them down verbally again and again and again!

22. I guess you were in the bathroom for this part of Obama's inaugural speech
"On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics."

Faux News may not be on the main set in the press room, but none of the other things you suggest are going to happen, not by a longshot.

23. Exactly .......
... he will make them feel included. Carrots vs. sticks kids .... it's all about carrots vs. sticks.

Not to mention the fact that he's not the type to tell his staff what they can or cannot watch. In order to be critical of something, you have to educate yourself to it. Banning is something a coward would do ..... and we all know "he doesn't do cowering."

26. He shouldn't. In fact...
he needs, right now, to assign staffers to watch Faux in two-hour shifts. (Five minutes longer than that falls into areas prohibited by an already-signed executive order.) The worst lies they broadcast need to be slapped down by the administration, hard and fast, and without someone monitoring that shit 24/7 they might let one through.

28. I think he should do this until FOX is willing to admit it is biased
Edited on Sun Jan-25-09 04:42 PM by Hippo_Tron
The Weekly Standard and The National Review can have front row seats in the press room for all I care. They are completely open about their bias and as long as they are then that's fine by me. Likewise if Fox's slogan were "Fox, the network for conservatives" then I would have no problem with that. But they need to drop the Fair and Balanced slogan because until they do so then it's nothing more than a deceptive propaganda machine.
