Feeling a Draft? HELL NO! I WILL NOT GO!
I've heard all of the rumors, and if you're reading this, then you probably have as well.

Let me make myself very clear.

I have no fight with the Iraqis.

I am 110% against the war in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, war with Syria, Iran, or ANYWHERE for that matter.

I WILL NOT shed a single drop of MY blood to make Dick Cheney, George H. W. Bush, Jim Baker, Karl Rove, Richard Perle or any of these G_d-damned Anti-Christian, neo-conservative fascist motherfuckers even 1 red cent richer than they are now.

NO MAN can force me to do ANYTHING against my will. Try, and I will FIGHT YOU to the very last ounce of my strength.

I believe in justice.

Bet on a draft to fund our war with Iran.
It's not going to pretty.

4. They can't make people go who DO NOT want to go.
If 100 million Americans stood opposed to the draft, it -- and the Bush Administration -- would be immediately immobilized.

7. so by dodging the draft,
NEOBuckeye, myself, and I'm sure half of the people on this board would be "ruining" the planet? It's patriotic to avoid participating in a war you morally disagree with, and don't ever tell me otherwise.

Do you mean the original posters thoughts and actions are wrong?

Or do you mean "they"--the regime--are wrong?

13. Not to throw a monkey into the works
But a Veteran for Kerry organizer that I spoke to said that the draft boards are already being prepared, and that in her opinion, with the way Bush gutted the military, a draft may be inevitable even if Kerry gets in, just to put the military back where it should be.

My brother, who was in the army, said that the military is hollow right now. The support people like clerks and such are even being tapped to go into combat.

What if Kerry has to institute a draft? I'm afraid that people are going to be angry at him and not understand that Bush is the cause of it.

What do you all think of this notion?

17. There is no way in hell Kerry will institute a draft.
When he gets help in Iraq and brings our overworked boys home, we can rebuild our military.

12. This why their will be a Draft
Colonel Hackworth,

I don't have any breaking news from the recruiting front for you, but I just wanted to illuminate the terrain from where I am deployed. I have been on the Drill Sergeant trail here at Ft XXXX for two years now and it's becoming painfully obvious to me what our recruiters must be going through. We are smack in the middle of what would normally be our busiest time of the year. However, we are just not that busy. Where as we would usually have about 300 privates in our AIT company, we currently are hovering somewhere around 200. It's very odd to walk down the hallways in the barracks and see whole 8 man rooms empty. I'm not going to say that the quality of soldiers has declined, because I respect the hell out of these young people for having the balls to volunteer for the Army when they know damn good and well where they are going upon graduation.

18. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
I will leave the country before I fight for Bush. I could be convinced to join up under Kerry but it would take an immediate, pressing crisis like North Korea nuking us, China starting WWIII, something like that.

I will NOT fight in the middle east for anyone. Period. I'll die before that happens.
