He explained why Guantanamo has been a blot on our country, a poster used in recruiting terrorist, and counterproductive. He explained how he had conducted interrogations using the principles of our country and was successful at it, getting some of the people he interrogated coming back to help him because the way he treated them. He was eloquent, and talked out of experience. Loved it!

1. I hope someone puts it up in the videos section
Was he the guy who's written a book on the subject?

I wish I could afford all the books I want.

2. all i keep seeing is the bs about how all the gitmo detainees are showing up on battlefields
so ONE guy ends up somewhere. the rest is bs. Instead of just spouting off what so and so says as fact and doing their damned jobs and investigate what actually is happening, they are trying to scare people into damanding gitmo stay open? wtf is wrong with people. it's true. there are people who are dangerous who haven't done anything. we see it on the streets of this country every day. people we know could and might do something bad. but we can't just lock them up indefinitely because we think they are dangerous.

oh, but these aren't americans. well, they did try it with at least one american, didn't they? it's not a good place to go, if you ask me. that's a slippery slope I don't want us to be going down.

3. Did you watch Rachel with the guy that researched the numbers released by the Pentagon. Found lies.
He ended up finding 3 that could be said to be doing things that can be referred as to "going back to the trenches" with terrorist groups. Why other news people don't do research... oh, because they are talking heads wanting to scare people off their gourds.

6. Repug Senator that Matthews had on last night
Spouting the same thing--60 ex-Gitmo people have gone back to the battlefields. That is an absolute lie. Matthews at least nailed him on saying that we couldn't possibly hold these people anywhere in the U.S., that they were just too dangerous if they escaped. Matthews said, like we've had so many people like Sirhan Sirhan escape?

8. yes. that's the only way i know this whole thing is bs. it's amazing to me
how the msm is just spouting these things as fact. i think it'd be a miracle if any of these so called journalists did any sort of invesigatng of their own. i guess it's just easier to be a mouthpiece. thank god for people like rachel maddow and keith olbermann who actually do this kind of segment on their shows.

5. Can't we PLEASE get this guy on camera at the same time as Guiliani or one of the
other blowhards spouting the GOP lines about saving Gitmo? I nearly popped a vein screaming at the TV this morning. Asshole even makes Scarbrough sound reasonable.

7. the republicans are coming out en-masse...
to stop the possibility of the 'rule of law' being applied to Gitmo. And why? Because it means a terrorist is coming soon to a neighborhood near you. We do not have it within our power to apply any legal standard to determining guilt or innocence. They are not prisoners of war, because there is no war, but on the other hand they can't be released until the war is over. We are also incapable of successfully imprisoning these people in our prison system. They will recruit all the other prisoners you see. How many detainee's have been released aleady? Surely it's in the hundreds at least. Too bad no one asks these schmucks that are pimping their bullshit any questions.
