shook and rolled for quite some time, but no damage. I was ready to head outside, but it's too damn cold. Our neighbor was yelling at his cats to quit playing on the bed!

It's good we have these once in a while.

rather surprising since the epicenter was 160 miles away. Some reports have the magnitude at 5.7, not 6.1.

We're pretty used to this kind of thing. I imagine my brother's family who live in Homer (50 miles from epicenter) got a little flutter in their tummies. :)

Wasn't that PATHETIC? Andrew Halcro had a very nice comparison at his blog of Sarah's 2008 speech with the 2009 speech. Either she had a really good speech-writer last year, or she's just totally lost it since August. Last year, she sounded like she knew what she was talking about -- what a difference a year makes.
