Are you surprised at the tone of the campaign?
Kerry said recently that Bush and Cheney would say absolutely anything to get elected -- I agree, and would add only that they would also "do" anything to get elected.

I am not surprised at how hard the Bushies are hitting Kerry -- or how bad the media is behaving -- we expected this!

If you heard him on Imus, you would know Kerry is not flinching -- he is fighting.

Break thru the media barrier - that is what Kerry has to keep doing.

1. I wish there was a way we could fight the media.
Sending them letters will make them happy because they know you are watching and the more audience they have the more money they make.

I guess we can petition to remove CNN, FOX, MSNBC from the cable lineup (which won't work) or petition the cable companies to have packages without those stations or the people on the petition would cancel cable all together.

There's gotta be something to protest this and be effective.

3. I've simply "deprogrammed" them from my saved channel - everyone
can and should do this if they are serious.

4. I'm not at all surprised
And whoever our nominee was the Rovean attack dogs would be running a smear campaign.

5. The GOP has created so much fiction...
...I wonder if they even know what's true anymore.

It's really pathological. They clearly believe that no lie is too outrageous if it advances their ideology. The media, long past doing it's job, spouts the GOP-fed lines and the "willfully ignorant" public gobbles it up. I hope that, in the not-too-distant future, we'll be looking back at this period in time and wondering how a group of people could, on an enormous scale, accept discredited information from discredited sources and gleefully lap it up.

8. People already ask that question of the 1930s Germans
And yes, I think if the Free World continues on into the latter half of the 21st Century (which as not at all assured with the Busheviks creating this new Age of Totalitarianism), Free World Historians (most likely NOT Amerikan Subjects, who won't be free at all) will indeed be asking that question about the Turn-of-the-Century Amerikan Imperial Madness.

6. I'm shocked
The thought that Kerry is no longer viewed as one willing to sacrifice himself for his country really shocks me. I mean, it maybe shouldn't have been an issue (the service record, I mean), but the thought it could all get so twisted...

7. Nope...not after what Kerry said during the primaries about Bush/Cheney.
Remember that off the mike comment Kerry made about the Bush/Cheney people being nothing but a bunch of "liars and crooks"? Well, Kerry was right on the money about them. The Bush/Cheney people are a nasty bunch of characters....nothing they will say or do surprises me.
