Yet another CBS memo angle that has not been discussed.

At least, to the best of my knowledge it has not.

Has anyone considered that perhaps the memos were indeed forged by someone related directly with the Bush campaign, because they knew that his guard service was going to come out soon into the media, and by pre-empting everyone with some documents that have 'suspect' authenticity, and no way to prove it either way, they divert attention from the real issues of Bush's service. Plus, as a bonus, they can claim the Democrats released 'forged' documents directly to CBS, thus smearing CBS/Rather (one of the few mostly non partisan news organizations left) AND the Democrats in a single play.

It stinks of classic Rove to me.

to me it's not the fashion that the message was delivered, it's the content. Rove etal. have NOT addressed the content, just the delivery. The facts remain unsullied, Bush gained entry into the TANG by pulling favors and did not fulfill his duties. THAT is what needs to be pushed here, but of course the "Liberal Media" ignores those little facts and pushes the official White House talking points.

I think that's exactly what's going on. And I think CBS knows that's exactly what's going on. And I think CBS has already figured out what to do about it. This ain't over yet.

4. The National Guard had those typewriters.

Ones capable of the fancy formatting tricks and fonts. They had them as far back as 1966.

I am in possession of confirmation on that fact, as are other, far more august, respectable and serious researchers into this matter. Source is beyond excellent.

Hopefully, there will be more to come on this soon. As with these sorts of things, sensitivity to sources is the key.

I saw no reason for them in the first place. They had nothing to do with the story of how Bush got into the guard.

But they do illustrate how he screwed up & didn't even fulfill the obligation that his influence bought. This was already known, but the memos show more of the details.

Bush got out of the guard the same way he got in. Privilege. These documents are irrelevant to those two basic facts. The "critics" pounced far to quickly for me to believe that they were genuine. It was an amBUSH.
