The Repubs didn't let their bad poll numbers get them down and it is obvious that media has continuously downplayed polls and stories that favor Kerry. Why should we give up this early? Their fairy tale convention glossing over the failures of the past four years is over and the campaign is really just starting. Harsh reality and negative stories working against Bushco have mushroomed this past week with front page coverage of Iraq violence, Medicare costs escalating, Bush's sorry service record, plus Kerry has come out swinging and looking good in the media this week. And Kitty Kelley's book turns the tables on Bushco.

I went to Dem headquarters to get more yard signs and bumper stickers this week and distributed them and am sending in a letter to the editor about Bush's broken campaign promises from 4 years ago and his new promises he has failed to do anything about in the past 4 years.

Let me ask all of you gloom and doom naysayers a question. How many of you are working to get people registered and to get out the vote? How many have volunteered to be precinct captains and to assist in swaying voters who are leaning or undecided?

Come on people, make some phone calls. Find out what you can do locally. On Monday, I made more than 100 phone calls to people who had said that they wanted to help get Kerry elected. The vast majority all of a sudden had better things to do, and felt that getting a free sign to stick in their yards was the maximum effort they could make.

Quit making excuses, and get to work guys. I know that there are many on DU who are already doing more than their share, but many of us could be doing a lot more. When I go back tomorrow I hope to God that I hear fewer excuses; we need people on the ground on the local level to WIN this election. It's not John Kerry's campaign, it is OUR campaign.

and guess what? The polls in it says that Kerry's popularity has almost come back to pre-repukealin convention levels. This is 7 weeks before the election. I was down also right after the convention , but Bush's military record is in shamebles, and it's sticking. He can't talk about economy without talking about jobs that are going overseas...His "leave no child behind" is a crock because the kids are studying for tests, not for knowledge.
