5. Or . . .
"Minnesota, where the Bush convention bounce has yet to take full effect, is trending heavily toward the popular wartime president."

2. You shoulda heard the media whore spin on local news this morning.
Channel 5 (ABC) pretty boy reported this story not that Kerry has a lead outside the margin of error, but that Bush was "closing the gap" because he gained a couple of points.

Pathetic.

7. The Star Tribune had the same headline...
I didn't read the article, but I'm sure the headline said that Bush was "closing the gap" (their exact words, if I do recall)

10. Not really
We can predict their headlines before they make them. I would say they are quite predictable. Grrrr.

Repukes around here whine about the Star Tribune's liberal slant.

22. What can you expect from Stanley Hubbard?
Hubbard is a longtime GOP supporter/contributor. Their "new" news anchor Cyndi Brucato (sp?) used to be Arne Carlson's PR flak, and before that she was (suprise!) an anchor at KSTP!

The only station locally that still has a modicum of fairness (outside PBS) is WCCO-- and that's still pretty rare. I wouldn't trust the others as far as I can throw them, but that's just me. :)

3. Minnesota is coming back
A nine point lead in a state that Gore won by only 2 or 3 after the month Kerry had is sensational.

Michigan, Minnesota and Illinois are solidly behind us in the MW. We now have to concentrate on Ohio and Wisconsin--I think Iowa looks pretty good for us too. I haven't noticed Schrub going there recently.

13. It means Bush is running 6 points below his '00 percentage in Mn
while Kerry is running 2-points ahead of Gore.

14. Our liberal media doesn't see it that way
I read last night online that our fearless leader was "cutting into Kerry's lead in MN. . . ." It certainly doesn't look that way to me. I suppose if Bush were one point ahead, he would be "about to win in a landslide. . . ."

15. Great News!

That's one less problem to worry about. No doubt Stormin' Norm's do-nothing Senate performance has reminded Minnesota voters that the GOP blows, and all that . . . .

Now we just need to solidify Wisconsin and we have all the Gore states firmly in hand DESPITE an absolutely awful month for Kerry. That's actually quite amazing. Now we need New Hampshire and six more electoral votes (AR???), and it's over.

16. I don't believe that.
11 points? When the others have been so close? I don't doubt he's ahead there but the thing that pisses me off about this is someone's going to post a Minnesota poll sometime in the near future that shows Bush ahead and everyone's going to freak and tear their hair out about how the Kerry campaign has fucked up and blown an advantage. STOP WITH THE FUCKING POLL SCRUTINIZING!

18. It's 9 points, not 11
and if merely posting this info is upsetting to you, maybe you could ignore it instead of yelling "STOP WITH THE FUCKING POLL SCRUTINIZING!"

21. I stand corrected
9 points is much more believable. I don't know why I saw 11.
And I'm sorry but I get tired of everyone freaking out with all of the poll swings.

23. "Swing State" MY BIG FAT WHITE @$$
Kerry will do rather well in this state, I predict, even with Nader on the ballot.

Yes, Gore beat Shrub by only a couple points in 2000, but Nader also got 5+% of the vote, too. Nader will be on the ballot this year, too, but I'd be suprised if he even gets 1%. The MN Green Party is still around (and active), and they'll be voting for Cobb, if they don't cross over and support Kerry-- which is what most of them will probably do.

Each day driving to/from work (between DT Mpls and DT St Paul), the ratio of Kerry bumperstickers to Shrub bumperstickers is a minimum of 3:1. Yesterday I bet I counted two dozen just on the way home-- and didn't see ANY Dubya stickers!

The sleeping giant that is the left in MN is finally waking up. We're taking this state back, one election at a time. No longer will we be content to be a colder Mississippi!!!!!

:toast:
