Fire Bush; It's only one job lost

Kyle Clapham
COLUMN

The President of the United States is no different than the average working citizen. In essence, the American people become his employer the day that he takes that oath that he will serve this nation to the best of his abilities. If a president does not produce satisfactory results within a four-year term, then he does not deserve to be re-elected.

Our current president, George W. Bush, has proven that he cannot produce results within four years. Let's take into consideration that in his term he has spent the surplus left behind by former president Bill Clinton. In fact, President Bush has bankrupted the treasury, sending the United States into a debt of endless spending that we do not have the luxury of executing. It is no different than the person who continually abuses a piece of plastic, believing that his source of money will never cease; but, remember that reality sets in when the bill comes in the mail.

And who do you think will be faced with paying that enormous bill when the time comes? If you guessed the American people, then you are correct. We all know that the easiest way for a president to fight a deficit is to raise taxes for the average American.

It is no secret that our current president shattered the record for the biggest annual deficit in American history, as well as overseeing one of the worst declines in the U.S. economy. Remember that in his term as president he set the record for the most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period.

2. Cute
This should be a cute-little quip used frequently by our surrogates. It's light-hearted and fun.
