Given the fact that 95% of our attention seems to be on Vietnam at the moment it makes me think that no one realizes that.

For those that have fallen for this Rovian scheme let me tell you that if the campaign doesn't get on the ball ASAP we are going to be in trouble in a very short amount of time.

Given the fact I have seen polls indicating that 80+% of people are NOT going to base their vote on what happened this issue I am convinced Rove is going to try to keep this going at full momentum all the way to election day.

There are countless CURRENT and IMPORTANT issues that have gotten next to nothing in air time compared to Vietnam service. What issues you say? (in the event you have been sleeping since 2000) Here's a good refresher: http://www.wage-slave.org/scorecard.html These are the issues that will win us the election - and Rove has seen to it that these issues are NOT on the table. He is controlling the debate and 90% of democrats seem to be unaware of this.

I am uncertain if it is the Kerry campaign that has fallen for this, or if it is the media preventing the campaigns message on the issues from coming through. If it is the media I have no idea what can be done to fix the problem. (Probably nothing I imagine) If it is the campaign then they need to take control of the debate back from Rove, and they need to do it NOW.

1. Listen to Kerry
don't listen to the media

His message is NOT Nam, his message is the economy, the war in Iraq, loss of jobs, health care, et al

You will have to tune in to CSPAN, the media will NOT tell you this.

It is the media stupid, and it is as clear as day

2. With the way people here
are focusing on Nam instead of the issues you could have fooled me.

If highly informed people here are taking the bait I'd hate to think what the ignorant "I watch 5 minutes of FAUX News and consider my self informed" masses are focused on.

3. You are right about the media blocking Kerry's message
If you listen to Kerry's speeches, he's hitting all the right notes. It is the media that is blocking his message. It looks like Kerry realizes this and is literally "going around the media" to talk directly to the people in face-to-face meetings all across the country.

Frankly, I don't know what else Kerry can do. It may be an effective strategy, what with Bush only speaking in front of groups of either actors paid to cheer him, or the religiously insane.

However, my concern is that, along with the fake polls, this media manipulation will be used by Bush and his media to sell the outcome of a rigged election.
