1. @ the Detroit Economic Club.
Granholm doing well to tear down the republicans in the audience. Said the club is pretty conservative, trying to frame the debate in business terms. Pretty good stuff.

6. This is the speech, but he hasn't said it yet

9. you cannot argue with the man: 11 presidents (6 dems, 5 repubs)
were war presidents and all of them created jobs, but not bush

3 tax cuts later, still 1 million jobs lost and far from the 6 million bush promised

10. I love that
Nails Bush as the incompetent performer that he is. His excuse is always 9/11 and terrorism, as if he's the ONLY president that ever faced a crisis.

Good reminder, that all presidents face enormous challenges and crises. Only Bush has completely failed his test.

14. precisely. listening to kerry CASE CLOSED. if youre open minded at all
then theres no way they will be able to deny the wide swath of destruction that bush has made

oh i cant wait for the debates.

i do not mean this to be harsh, im just saying truth: bush struggles with a complete sentence, and theres no way he could communicate anything nearly so coherent and anything that actually makes sense

and people are going to have to face that very soon...

18. Kerry will be just like this in the debates
and Bush will be his stuttering, clueless self. I can't wait. :D

Oh, but of course Bush will win, because he's a debating genius.

12. He is ripping * a new one on the economy
If you don't get a chance to hear the speech this afternoon, be sure to check C-SPAN's site for rerun schedules or a transcript. He's specifically charging * with willfully choosing to favor the wealthy over the middle class and running through example after example of how * did this and the problems we have now and down the road because of it.

He's also hammering on the secret energy meetings and special ties with overseas oil interests, also accusing * of deliberately helping the pharm cos stiff everyone with higher costs.

He's not saying the words "class warfare" but he's carefully describing it in detail.

Wow.

16. laying out econ plan now
Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 05:34 PM by crickets
Earlier mentioned he wanted to emulate Roosevelt and he wants to solve problems in a bipartisan way

- close outsourcing tax loophole and offer incentives for jobs at home
- US should export products, not jobs
- new jobs tax cuts, especially aimed at small businesses having trouble providing health care
- will enforce trade agreements abroad to help US business be on a level playing field
- lowering health care costs by offering health care plan aimed at middle class w/premiums lowered by $1000
- tax breaks/tuition tax credits for college students

He is aiming most plans to help the middle class and to ease health care costs. He keeps hammering on the "help the middle class" and "help small businesses" over and over.

edit: spelling error

17. Really reaching out to the business vote, while keeping it "real"
and easy to understand. He's definetly defining his style as opposed to the whore media would like us to think.

Saying we need to stopgoing backwards.

creating new age jobs and a future! This is what got me interested in JK during the primaries. Keep it up President Kerry, the debates are just around the corner.

20. He's riffed "ownership America"
into "shareholders of America" and showing how fiscal responsibility applies to everyone and benefits everyone. My paraphrase isn't doing his argument justice. His message is very clear and inclusive.

His plans will provide relief while still allowing for paying down the deficit. PAY AS YOU GO.

He is on fire. :bounce:
