Kerry Losing Lead Over Bush In Illinois

Sep 15, 2004 6:05 pm US/Central
CHICAGO (CBS 2) The presidential election is just 48 days away now, and according to an exclusive new poll of Illinois voters, George W. Bush and John Kerry could be in a virtual dead heat.

The debates are coming, unless Bush goes from 2 to no debates.

4. I was just about to point that out
and a 1-point lead for Bush or a tie is what other polls are showing.

6. Ok, I live there. In the heavily republican area of the "T"
* was here last week in Johnstown, 2 networks covered it from the time the plane landed, until he left.

So what does Kerry/Edwards do?

Edwards is coming on Sunday... hellooo SUNDAY???

Pre-empt the football games? And if the networks do pre-empt the Football games, will that be more favorable for Kerry? Or will we just have a bunch of pissed off rednecks?

On Tuesday Teresa is coming to Penn State to make a speech.

Johnstown is also sending *'s campaign a bill for $10,000 for the costs of last week's campaign stop.

12. I completely believe you, but in this area for men
Sunday football is the equivalent of...going into the woods in November and shooting bambi.

These people around here are freaks!! Pickup trucks, gun racks. And the biggest way to piss them off, is to interrupt the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I'm serious. I'm not happy with my area at all, this is just the way it is. 2 stations covered * last week, and if they show Edwards live, the same way the did to *. I think it may do more harm than good.

16. The black vote will be ....
critical in order for Kerry/Edwards to win in Pennsylvania.
We need to get the inner city voters more excited about Kerry. If they don't turn out BIG TIME for us on Nov. 2, then it will be hard to overcome the Repug voter registration advantage in the suburbs and the middle of the state. And believe me, they are out there.
I just emailed the DNC and recommended they ask Kerry or Edwards to do a few campaign rallies together with Philly Mayor John Street. Or maybe Jessie or Sharpie.
Time is growing too short, and we got to get back the big MO.
