http://www.runagainstbush.org/nrabd/index.htmlOkay, here's a chance to get out and do something away from your computer, meet likeminded people, AND be political in public while being (gasp) healthy.
This is why I joined Run Against Bush anyway....to do something outside of my normal computer-activist work (also because I was trying to quit smoking and exercise is a really great way to do that, but I digress). :D So you can be exercising AND political at the same time. And no, you DON'T HAVE TO RUN. :) Many in my group walk, bring kids & dogs, etc. The best part is just being with a group of people in Run Against Bush shirts and getting asked what you're doing. It's a great way to talk about the election just because people will ask YOU. You don't even have to approach them.
They donate matching funds to Democratic congressional candidates...to help build a Democratic congress for Kerry. So if you buy a shirt online or at the event this Saturday it is for that purpose. But...you don't have to have a shirt. Just show up!
This is a weekly thing in many cities but this Saturday is the big National Day where they are trying to get a lot of turnout. If you're at all interested and don't have anything to do that morning...here you go!
