...if you have NOT reached that point BUT love to see pictures, read stories and take note of actions of a historically transformational political figure then you're just fine.

The fact that he just happens to be the first person in history to be a different skin color of the majority of the population who elected him to the lead office of a G8 country of affluence just adds icing on the cake no?

1. I feel fine!
I don't know why these BS right-wing "worship" talking points have suddenly become the rage but there is a simple solution: If you don't like posts that celebrate President Obama then DON'T LOOK AT THEM!

3. This is another sad grasp by the GOP to try and bring down a
popular Democratic President.

They can't stand that Presidential approval under a republican went from 20% to 68% for a Democrat overnight.

Obama's brilliance is what is drawing peoples support, not worship.

4. You know what...I wonder if people said the same thing about JFK
My grandmother and parents had images of JFK, Martin and Bobby Kennedy in their homes. I remember growing up with those images.

Did that make them "worshippers?" Was that same meme being spread around then?

I seriously doubt they would have given a rat's ass if people accused them of being hero worshippers because they were direct beneficiaries of the good things those men did. And yes they had feet of clay.

5. I remember photos of JFK in houses, too
Catholics were thrilled because maybe they never expected a Catholic President. AAs today have even greater reason to be thrilled over seeing a black President - likely many thought they'd never see it.

An Indian friend has a portrait of Ghandi in her house - why is it worship? It's just appreciation of a good person. Would having a portrait of Lincoln or Washington in a house be weird?

Some people just live on cynicism.

6. and what is with the Messiah talking point
I have heard on several occasions talk of liberals considering Obama the Messiah. In all instances, this has come from some conservative (Hannity, Limbaugh, etc). I have yet to find a single instance of this from any liberal. On the other hand, I recall many "Christians" making claims like this for Bush back in 2000.

Do I worship Obama? No. Do I think he is a monumental improvement? Yes.

Then again, even a monkey would look like the Messiah compared to the last 8 years.
