I think the time/cnn poll with the 11 point spread was done asking 1000 men with confederate flags in their pick ups who would be their choice for president.

the major media is fueling the perception that Kerry is losing, the campaign is in chaos etc.- and under-reporting polls which favor him.
It is like they are trying to accelerate his defeat.

I still believe Kerry can turn this around, but the media is throwing every obstacle his way.

7. I think the reason that so many of us get down is because

even though the race is apparently virtually tied, none of us can effing believe that we're going through the 2000 unelection all over again. Every redneck I know in Texas and Oklahoma (my family cup runneth over) -- even the knuckledraggers -- are all voting for Kerry this year. They rail and rail against Bush, and these are people who've voted with the R's for decades. I think that many of us really felt that we'd be landsliding this year, so it's hard to fathom that, despite the 4 years of crimes and war and death and debt and joblessness, the American people are still where we were 4 years ago. It's sickening. This country hasn't grown whatsoever during all this time.

But holy hell, I'll take it any way we can get it. Even if it's by one point.
