WTF ever happened to THIS?
from President's Remarks to the Unity Journalists of Color Convention

"'We actually misnamed the war on terror, it ought to be
the struggle against ideological extremists who do not believe in free societies who happen to use terror as a weapon to try to shake the conscience of the free world.'(Laughter.)''

this is from whitehouse.gov, btw, admitting that they were LAUGHING at him!

how come NOTHING at all came of this idiocy?

and how come the great clips, like the sovereignty definition, haven't made the rounds, except for here?

why bother, I know.....media has other priorities

what about the DEMS, though?

1. jesus......."shake the conscience?"
IIRC, it wasn't certain whether he said 'shake' or 'shape' at the time; neither of which made any sense

6. that, too...forgot about that one
glad I have a tape, but it's so painful to watch him for any amount of time, except when he's in the midst of flubbing up

course, that's usually pretty frequent

that Unity speech was most excellent though....so many highlights, some of the best of which were when he paused for the applause he received for the same lines at at his usual Nuremburg rallies

he got NOTHING for almost all of them there, though

that was so sweet, as were the DU threads posted in realtime as he was blathering

3. what does he mean here?
''ideological extremists who do not believe in free societies who happen to use terror as a weapon''

they don't believe in free societies?

or just free societies who happen to use terror as a weapon

guess I'll have to check the videotape

maybe I'll wait til the election's over....when will that be--April?

won't be much fun if he steals it again

10. Oh, they've made the rounds-I have that clip on my video page
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 12:48 PM by Dac_76
Video Clips

As of this month, that sovereignty clip has been viewed 14,000 times (that doesn't count how many times it was viewed last month when it was new), which makes it about 1000 people looking at it per day. It's on a whole bunch of diverse internet sites and has apparently been emailed all over heck. (I'm also certain that the other people who have this same clip or audio on their site in quicktime or realtime format are seeing the same thing).

There are some other Unity clips in the same section, including the "What we should call the war on terrorism", his *intern camp* one, the protestor interrupting his speech, him getting told AFTER the speech that he's in trouble in Florida, etc.

Saying that it might not be making the rounds of cable news, but it's sure got legs on the internet.

they just let that ahole get away with MURDER, sts

all in a day's spoonerisms, malapropisms, non sequiturs, grammar slaughtering, lying, preening, smirking, did I say lying?

13. fixed the link
I agree about television. I QUIT watching news on cable... period. I also QUIT watching ABCNEWS and NBCNews, period. Cable not only has no regulations governing it, but can legally lie, and is infotainment.

14. couldn't agree more, and am trying to wean self away from all you've
listed

can only hope CBS doesn't cave

if they're smart, they'll become the Fox of the mainstream, reporting all the stories they SHOULD have been doing for the last four years, but that EVERYBODY has been ignoring

maybe they could start with, oh, say, the SIBEL EDMONDS segment they refused to air

or a story on Indira Singh

or a story on BCCI/Bush/Mueller connections

or a story on why Kristen Breitweiser, lifelong REPUBLICAN, is voting for, working for Kerry

not holding breath

12. The Sovereign Entity clip still makes healthy rounds on the internet.
I think Ebaums World has it now, and that's a pretty popular place.
