CNN: 11% say speech made them more pessimistic.
A CNN/Opinion Research poll indicates that two-thirds of those who watched President Obama's address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night had a very positive reaction to his speech.

In addition, 85% of those polled said the president's speech made them more optimistic about the direction of the country over the next few years, with 11% indicating the speech made them more pessimistic.

That 11% is, no doubt, the GOP's dwindling voter base looking toward the 2010 mid terms and beyond.

1. Yes, and long may the GOP voter base continue to dwindle.
We're seemingly getting down to the dregs but there's still MANY worthy souls to be saved from The Dark Side (GOP).

2. that is great news. we need to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
it's good that obama is giving people a glimpse of that. as for that 11%.... yeah, they probably think bush was the greatest president ever!

3. Wasn't the GOP's magic number 22% or something like that,
and this 11% is like half of that.

So can I safely assume that we are witnessing the historical fracturing of the Republican Party?

I love being a part of history!

Pass me the

4. Of course they were less optimistic...
... if I was a wingut and had to sit and listen that AMAZING speech followed by whatever that was that Bobby did .... I'd be pretty pessimistic too .... about my party EVER winning ANOTHER election! lol
