Bush is a former oil executive whose family has historical ties to Wall Street, and his top five contributors are all from the world of business, the center found.
Topping the list are securities firms Morgan Stanley with donations of $561,425 and Merrill Lynch with contributions of $530,154, followed by accounting firm PriceWaterhouse Coopers and the U.S. arm of Swiss bank UBS AG .
