I think it's charming, and shows they love each other a lot. Yea, I'm married, longer than them, but we don't partake in that show of affection too often. I still like it. A lot. And the Obamas are each others' support center. And it's nice to see. At least for me.

1. It's wonderful.
Maybe it's even so wonderful the the MSM can't feign outrage, though I bet it crossed their minds!

still so visibly in love is a welcome change and a good example. Someone posted a picture the other night showing one of the debates and the Obama's embraced, and McCain sort of grimaced at his wife. I'm glad we don't have people like that in the White House. How anybody could vote for those cold fish is beyond me!

3. I think it's nice. Old shrub never even acknowledged Laura standing right next to him.
It is nice to see something so genuine in the White House again.

4. She almost never walked beside him...
She was either 2 paces behind him, or * was pushing her along in front of him.

8. McCain is even worse
He literally abandons his wife on stage or wherever they are.

9. McCain and Cindy are two of the coldest people I've ever seen.
Megan (their daughter) doesn't seem to be like either one of them... at all.

I seem to remember something like that and many found it inappropriate.

10. My dear babylonsister!
I think it's wonderful! They are so obviously in love with each other, and their hand-holding is just the icing on the cake...

I wish my husband would hold my hand...

It is such a tender thing to do...

12. My dear CaliforniaPeggy,
It's very tender. As you are. :loveya:'

If I had been Michelle, I'd have said, "Barack, don't leave me alone, hold my hand. This is big."

This was big, and I loved that they supported each other, as they always do!

17. I believe it is genuine and very comforting to the world, for it
gives them the aura of stability in an unstable world. The "Bush" marriage was a troubled one, and it was obvious. Statistics have shown that good marriages make healthier individuals, mentally and physically. Of course, that doesn't mean the marriage is always perfect, but the love should be obvious, and theirs certainly seems to be solid.

18. My husband and I still hold hands after 27 years together!
And we kiss and hug in public too and don't care what anyone thinks.

What kind of soulless monsters would think it's "horrible" that the Obamas hold hands?????

19. We just passed our 16th anniversary and hold hands all the time.
I think Obama's obvious love for his family is a great asset and a great example for the country after some very bad examples indeed.

Michelle is definitely a person who touches others. And so far every photo I've seen of her hugging others shows they seem to love it. Especially the kids. I don't recall seeing any other First Lady doing that. Even to their own kids.

I did see Chelsea holding both her parents' hands and walking them to the helicopter during the horrible time when Clinton finally admitted the fling with Monica. I was so proud of her that day. She actually marched them right past the cameras and the reporters by the hand, saving them that one moment of profound embarrassment.

25. I like it
The Obama's are clearly still in love with each other, and I'm glad they aren't afraid to tell that to the world.

BTW, my wife and I have been married for about as long as Barack and Michelle, and we still hold hands in public, too!
