No Republican in Congress voted for the budget
Edited on Fri Apr-03-09 10:40 AM by Wetzelbill
I remember when no Republican in Congress voted for Bill Clinton's deficit reduction bill and that ended up being hugely successful.

So if that many Republicans are against something, it's safe to assume that it must be pretty good policy. Maybe not perfect, but it's going to end up being a success.

I would be more worried if it was bipartisan, that's a sure sign of a watered down hackfest.

3. On the plus side the Republicans have acted so poorly
there is no talk of Obama having failed to create a bipartisan budget. Guess there isn't long lines of people looking to give the ultra wealthy mega tax breaks.

4. AND those Dems who voted NO....
Should be able to produce letters from their districts to say/show why (that they were acting in stewardship of their districts) or prepare to lose their jobs in two years.

5. It could still be a watered down hackfest
It could contain bunches of stuff the Repubs wanted in, and it could be missing stuff the Repubs wanted out. And just to show snarky solidarity, they'll unanimously vote against it anyway.

This bipartisanship stuff is not doing us any good. Repubs probably look at it as a sign of weakness. They admire folks like Cheney and Gingrich. No bipartisanship pretense, just bullying to advance their agenda.

:hi:

6. Think of the ads we can run against them
Voted against the largest middle class tax cut in history.

Voted against the biggest increase in VA spending. Wonder how the Repuke loving vets fill about that?

8. the problem is
that historically, Dems don't fight like that. I wish they would. Sometimes they do, but only in a few instances. I'd like to see them all get together and take this whole strategy nationwide so they could really hammer those facts home.

9. And as I understand it, NO Republicans voted for
Medicare 44 years ago. I wonder how many repukes, who enjoy their Medicare coverage, know this.
