Puppets of GWB and Condoleezza Rice get thrown into the Vltava river in Prague
during a 300-person demonstration against the proposed missile defense base in the Czech Republic.
Shouts of "No to RADAR!" and "Abolish NATO!"
Maybe the Czechs just don't like acronyms, lol

Here's the story:

2. More important than puppets,
'Some 300 opponents of the planned U.S radar base on Czech soil protested in Prague centre today, ahead of U.S. President Barack Obama's visit.'

4. I agree,
I was hoping the puppets would draw more attention than simply posting about the protest.
It's awesome that the protesters included many elderly people, I wonder if that has something to do with what the world looked like when they were growing up.

The more I read about it, the more I'm convinced the Prague visit could be the most memorable part of this trip.

3. "Abolish NATO' would be a fringe view in the Czech Republic.

5. Hmm, you wouldn't characterize NATO opposition as minority?
That sentiment is strong, but I think NATO opposition, in light of the Iraq war, is more than fringe.

Here's another article about the protests that have been organized:

6. Opposition to the Radar station is certainly strong.
Support for the Communist Party, not so much.

7. Well, they'll get half their wish... abolishing NATO ain't ever going to happen.
