UH-OH Faux Noise now claiming Obama "apologized" for America
I got stuck on the wrong channel with the Pittsburg massacre of police... then when it was over I left the room and came back and they are having 3 Republican "experts" discussing how Obama has been "apologizing" for America all over Europe, citing Obama's speech to the town hall in Strasbourg yesterday, where Obama mentioned "arrogance" of some Americans.

Geesh those folks at Faux Noise are INSANE!

6. Good for the person that snatched it! My husband thinks I'm nuts
but it actually interferes with my workout. I asked for the station to be changed one day and got glares and stares! Small town America is tough for this big city girl.

8. Another case of cutting the clip
He said that in the last 8 years or so, our relationship has suffered. But the United States has done a lot for Europe. They keep leaving off that last part.

10. I turned to Faux for one minute and saw Hannity with a banner reading, "OBAMA ATTACKS AMERICA"
Edited on Sat Apr-04-09 03:19 PM by jenmito
and he and Huckabee were talking about how Obama was overseas criticizing America saying he obviously doesn't LIKE it very much, blah blah blan. They played only the first part of his answer to someone when he said there have been times when America has shown arrogance but cut off the part that immediately followed where he said but in EUROPE there is an anti-Americanism that has been derisive and dismissive of all the good things we do. What a joke they are.

11. This was posted on the Internet a while back. I think it's appropriate now.
Oh, and everyone at Fox News, go fuck yourselves.

Sometimes it's embarrassing to be part of an empire.

Like when the leader of your nation goes around invading other countries on trumped-up weapons charges, making vague threats of economic penalties to countries that try to stand in his way, then afterwards can't produce any evidence of weapons at all.

Or when he praises the virtues of democratic society while supporting a coup against the popularly elected president of an oil-rich nation in South America.

Or even when he pushes for lower trade barriers for U.S. products, then imposes 30% tariffs on foreign imports.

These are difficult moments for us. These are moments that make our cheeks flush and bring words like hypocrite and arrogant bastard to our minds. Moments when we think, god, if I didn't have a job and car payments, I'd seriously consider moving to Paris, or even Amsterdam.

When Bush got into office, we thought, well, how bad can this be? What can he really screw up? Maybe he'll cut a few extra trees, maybe give some tax breaks to his rich buddies. Nothing too drastic, nothing that can't be undone by the next guy.

Boy were WE wrong!

We suppose it doesn't do any good to point out that we never actually elected him president. After all, votes only count for so much these days. And they aren't much consolation when some gibberish-talking fanatic who believes in manifest destiny is running amok through world politics, demanding that everyone play by his rules except for him.

Therefore, we'd like to take this opportunity to say,

Sorry about Bush.

We'll try to do better next time.
