I never Imagined that we would ever get there......
I hope that many of you are stopping to smell the flowers,
because as we speak, history is being made by this new President
nearly on a daily basis.

How many of us have clamored for the Pentagon weapons Defense budget to be cut,
and to rid ourselves of Nuclear weapons? I know, I have for years....
and although I never thought that it would be possible,
it appears that the time may be coming.

Looks like we are going from "Smart Nukes/Mini Nukes are very usable" PR campaign of George Bush
http://www.commondreams.org/views03/0916-07.htm

to

"No Nukes" per Barack Obama.

Me, I've been waiting most of my adult life for a leader to say what it is rumored
Barack Obama will say tomorrow in that speech in Turkey.

And then on Monday, Sec. Gates the new Pentagon budget...which is rumored to
have more weapons cut than we have ever seen before!

...the recommendations for defense budget "aren't changes on the margins.
It is a fundamental shift in direction."

Now that we finally have a really good President,
I'm going to appreciate the hell out of his speech tomorrow
and what it means both substansively and symbolically.

I remember it like it was yesterday, when Bush and Co. were making "smart nukes"
the new possible and the media was going with it.

Some may be too busy demanding everything, and wanting it right now
to appreciate this New President,
but it doesn't matter....cause I'll do enough appreciating for all of us.

I Thank the Lord that it is a new day!

3. We are in the middle of a new emerging reality.

I suggested this would happen in this post http://journals.democraticunderground.com/grantcart/163 where I compared our perception of the new President with the new perception that was going to arise when President Obama and the Obama First Family lived in the White House with the change of how we perceived the world after we went to the moon.

Not only is it a new day but we are a new people. We are going to understand ourselves in a new way. The world is going to see itself differently.

I wondered "How many slum children in Cairo, New Dehli, Soweto, Dhaka, Djakarta will gaze on (a picture of President Obama) and wonder about their own future". Could "Slumdog Millionaire" be the first evidence of a world wide change in optomism?

What would happen if everyone in the world could wake up and feel 100% optomistic about their life possibilities?
