9. definitely.
I like it how they definitely see him as one of the people, not a politician.
After all, why apologize to some politician for Berlusconi's antics.
But Obama is something of a reluctant politician, and has to deal with the nonsense.
It's touching that people sense that and want to apologize, lol.

3. Looks like the Czech Republic would be happy to have our Prez as theirs!
Not to mention, it appears, that most of the people of the world would be happy to have Obama as their leader.

When will our media "get it"? This is one hell of couple that we have representing us. The best in a lifetime.

We are, indeed, privileged to be Americans now.

I keep having to pinch myself.

Notably, I found find no pictures of Bush actually *in* Prague with a crowd showing as well. He did take some nice pics with the military though.

They played the entire town hall in Strasbourg, including the introductions in French and English, and the long handshaking after the question session, all the way through the playing of Stars and Stripes Forever.

That went on as replay at 5:40 AM Saturday morning on C-Span-I

13. I love how Michele Obama is unafraid to wear bold, even wild, fashions.
No prissy little Missy bullshit 'conservative,' safe, 'I am just my husband's helpmeet, don't notice me' styles for her! She is out there. She experiments. She likes bold slashes of bold colors, and stark, dramatic blacks and whites, often with (in the fashion world) wild features like this metal-studded, high-riding belt, and the outrageous big white bow. The fashion moguls of the world have been very snarky about her choices. I absolutely adore them. You never know what she is going to come up with next. She wears even the craziest constructions with total confidence and flair. You can feel, watching her in these adventurous clothes, that she would laugh at the snarks, cuz she knows what's real, what's important, what they're there for, and--as the Beatles once sang--"she do-o-o-on't ca-a-a-a-a-re!!!"

And when you see Malia and Sasha it's obvious she lets them choose their clothes too. They do a pretty good job too. It's obvious they love colors

Laura's clothing choices. She certainly had money and access to designers and stylists that could have made her look good. I guess it just boils down to personal bad taste.

26. Exactly.. for a woman her age, she had a decent shape, and there ARE clothes
that would have made her look good, but she seemed to deliberately choose the frumpiest things to wear..

About a year into it, those "texas designers" that she bragged about, should have staged an intervention:)

38. Laura has this "thing" about the "Potato Sack" look...
I think she was either trying to portray a "down home" persona, or she just didn't care. 95% of this nation are "down homers", we work for a living and dress accordingly. Outfits are fine for the office and certain events, but I really think most people would rather wear jeans and T-shirts. What was truly bad, from my point of view, was the color choices she made. The browns, tans and drab greens were horrific. When she did "color up", it was usually overboard, like the "Kleenex Gown".

Then again, maybe it was the xanax...:D

:hi:

I don't like what Michelle Obama has on today, I think the bow and the outside belt look strange.

33. Not crazy about Michelle's outfit, but LOVE picture #21
So beautiful and genuine

Laura looked like what Laura was - a former school teacher who wasn't into fashion, which is perfectly okay.

I've got nothing against frumpy. Or stylish (like Michelle). It's really tough to be a woman on the world stage, with everyone analyzing everything you wear - does it reveal too much (do you remember the hysteria over Hillary's "cleavage"?), does it highlight what people think of as you "flaws"? Is it too tight, too bright, too dull?

Ugh.

Men are lucky (except in the summer, when we get to wear cool sundresses and thong sandals to weddings and they still have to wear suits).

44. I didn't like the outfit today, either. That belt rides high and
makes her look even more shortwaisted than she is. It also caused her blouse to push up and look sloppy. Some people have jumped to the conclusion that she is pregnant (she's not, of course), because of the way the blouse puffs out over her abdomen. (I also think the blouse might be a bit too large for her.)

My guess is that when she sees photos of this outfit she will be disappointed in how it "worked." Some things that look fine when you are standing still in front of a mirror don't look fine after you've moved around in them. I bet she had to keep tugging down that blouse all day.

On the other hand, when she got off the plane in Prague, she was wearing a lovely fitted black sheath with that cute bolero cardigan she wore with her pretty evening outfit at the NATO concert Friday night. She looked lovely in that getting-off-the-plane outfit—and in her evening outfit Friday night.

One thing I notice about her is that she obviously packs like a mom and a working woman.

For example, that bolero sweater served as her evening wrap for the NATO concert on Friday and as her day wrap when she got off the plane in Prague. Her black belt in today's outfit has been worn with other outfits on this trip, including being belted over a coat worn with a yellow dress. Her black sweaters have done double and triple duty, too. Even her crinoline slip that she wore under her skirt at Buckingham Palace showed up again under her evening dress at the concert. The black and white outfits are obviously intended to be practical "mix and match" pieces so that she can pack fewer different garments.

I thinks she is still very hit and miss fashion wise. When she hits, she looks fantastic, but when she misses, she looks like she really needs a stylist.

B&W pieces for practicality, because she did mix and match the various elements--including the belt and the sweaters--all through the trip.
